The newest, shiniest update to Genshin Impact is version 3.6. Titled “A Parade in Providence”, this patch introduces two new Dendro characters into the game’s already massive roster. Aside from that, we will get to run around new areas of Summeru, get to battle it out in new Domains, and even try our hands at some events.

What sort of wacky adventures will the Traveler and their pals encounter this time?

As with most Genshin Impact updates, we will be getting one new 5-Star and 4-Star character each. They will both be Dendro, but one will be support, and the other a DPS.

Meet the 5-Star, Baizhu. This character has actually been in the game already for quite some time, as he is the owner of the Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue. His shop is considered as the “finest pharmacy in all of Liyue” (as if there was more than one). He is quite knowledgeable, especially in terms of alchemy and herbology.

Baizhu is also known to carry around his pet snake, Changsheng. This snake also talks, so there’s that. Genshin Impact is definitely full of odd and funny elements.

Being a support character, his kit rotates around healing and preventing damage. His Elemental Skill “Universal Diagnosis” sends out a spirit that hits nearby enemies. After 3 attacks, or if there are no more enemies around, the spirit returns and heals Baizhu’s entire party.

The Elemental Burst is called “Holistic Revivification”. Baizhu will enter a sort of trance that will generate a shield that absorbs Dendro damage. A new shield will be created every few seconds, replacing or replenishing the previous one if it still exists.

Next up is Kaveh, an artistic architect who wields a massive claymore. Being a giant sword user, Kaveh naturally is at his best as an AoE DPS character. His skill set perfectly matches this playstyle.

His first ability is Artistic Ingenuity, which makes use of Kaveh’s mathematical prowess. He uses his mapping ability to scan an area and deal damage within. If there are any Dendro Cores nearby, those will immediately detonate and deal damage.

The ultimate ability is called Painted Dome. This is actually quite complex compared to other Genshin Impact Elemental Bursts as it is less straightforward than outright damage. For one, it causes all Dendro Cores from Dendro reactions to deal more damage. Second, it deals Dendro AoE damage and detonates any nearby Cores. Additionally, it causes all of Kaveh’s attacks to deal Dendro Damage and makes him more resistant to being interrupted.

Genshin Impact’s 3.6 update will also bring us new lands and monsters to battle. We will be able to visit the new Girdle of the Sands area. This is another arid and barren desert in the Sumeru region. It is rumored that beneath the dunes lies an ancient civilization that has been lost to time. Monstrous foes and other creatures safeguard the secrets entombed within.

Perhaps the new boss “Guardian of Apep’s Oasis” will be one of these new monstrosities that lay beneath the sands? It makes sense that it would protect an oasis that is hidden deep beneath the desert.

There will also be three new Domains for Travelers and their parties to explore in Genshin Impact’s newest update. Two of these will require at least Adventure Rank 40, while the easiest one will only need Rank 22 and above. We will have one with a molten fortress theme, the second will be an underwater sea, and the last will be a purifying spring.

Players will be able to pick up the new Jadefall’s Splendor weapon, alongside the Nymph’s Dream and Vourukasha’s Glow Artifact sets for their troubles.

Genshin Impact’s still steadily getting substantial updates. This is despite the fact that developer Hoyoverse is also quite busy with two other titles, Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. This is also just the beginning, as Genshin Impact will also be getting new events, and Genius Invokation cards.
