In this Genshin Impact Guide, I’m going to be showing you Hyperbloom Freeze Build for Raiden Shogun, or what’s known as a Hyper-Fridge. Hyperbloom is a multi-layer reaction, that needs several elements to set up. The core components of Hyperbloom are a mix of Dendro, Hydro, and Electro characters. Among these, the ownership of the Hyperbloom’s trigger is always the Electro character. We add a freeze aspect in this build through a Cryo character, to enable the team to produce more Dendro cores. This way, we can proc a higher number of Hyperbloom reactions, compared to the standard Hyperbloom team.

This build is moderately cheap, and very effective. You can build with four-star only characters, or upgrade your Electro and Dendro characters to five stars. I will be showcasing the five-star version, with Raiden Shogun, Nahida, Xingqiu, and Layla. This forms a freeze and Hyperbloom team at the same time, with a lot of reactions, and buffs. This build is meant to squeeze Hyperbloom procs in higher frequency from Raiden Shogun with a high damage ceiling.

Raiden Shogun Hyper-Fridge Build Guide

The idea of Hyper-Fridge build is to freeze enemies and trigger Hyperbloom reactions as a damage source. So, we need a Hydro and Cryo application for freeze, which we get from Layla and Xingqiu. Then Dendro and Hydro application for Bloom, which we get from Nahida and Xingqiu. Finally, fast Electro application for triggering Hyperbloom, and doing damage. Raiden Shogun fulfils this role exceptionally well.

This entire team is carefully handpicked, with each character being the best in slot for each role. Compared to a standard Hyperbloom team, we can use Raiden Shogun in place of Kuki Shinobu, for a faster Electro application. Removing Kuki means the team no longer has a healer, so we use a Cryo shielder such as Layla instead. Nahida applies more off-field Dendro application than the main character, in a larger AOE. And finally, Xingqiu has the single best Hydro off-field application in the game.

To play a Hyper-Fridge team effectively, we stick to quick swap most of the time, until all skills go into cooldown. Then we stick to Nahida’s normal attacks for extra Dendro application and higher Spread damage.

Raiden Shogun Hyper-Fridge Build Stats

Similar to all transformative reaction teams, we build our Raiden with a full Elemental Mastery stat. We use Elemental Mastery (EM) on Sands, Goblet, Circlet, and weapon. On top of the full Gilded Dreams set you can go over 1000 or 1100 EM easily. Then you get even more from Nahida buffs.

For sub-stats, you can’t get more EM on artifacts that have EM main stat (Sands, Goblet, and Circlet). So you can only get EM sub-stats on Flower and Plume. Energy Recharge is relevant for Raiden, but that’s about it. We usually don’t use Raiden’s burst, so Attack and Crit stats are not important here. That makes Raiden very cheap to build and reaches the peak of her full potential very quickly.

Raiden Shogun Hyper-Fridge Weapon

Being a Polearm user, Raiden has very strong free options. For a Hyperbloom reaction, we focus solely on the Elemental Mastery (EM) stat, because it provides the highest damage possible.

Craftable Four-Star Weapons

Kitain Cross Spear is a craftable Polearm, you get its schematic from a quest in the Inazuma region. It has a maximum of 110 Elemental Mastery, which is decent. However, without a meaningful passive to back it up, the Kitain Cross Spear is not the best craftable weapon.

Moonpiercer on the other hand is a craftable polearm from Sumeru, that has 110 EM stat. But unlike Kitain, it offers a nice support passive. Upon triggering a Dendro-related reaction such as Hyperbloom or Aggravate, it generates a leaf on the ground.

The leaf gives an Attack buff to whoever picks it, and it’s ideal to be used by Nahida or Xingqiu, as both benefit from the Attack stat. So overall, it’s a nice baseline weapon for this build.

Gacha 4 Star Weapons

Raiden has a good gacha alternative in Dragon’s Bane, which is another EM weapon. It has a higher EM stat than craftable weapons, up to 221 EM.

Dragon’s Bane is the single best weapon for Raiden in a reaction team, such as Hyperbloom. It makes Raiden reach the highest damage output, without any gimmicks, or conditions. There’s no other weapon better than Dragon’s Bane in this team, including the five-star weapons.

Raiden Shogun Hyper-Fridge Artifacts

When it comes to the choice of artifact, Raiden is very flexible and able to achieve a great result with a wide variety of artifact sets.

Hybrid Set

Going with two pieces of one set, and two pieces from another is totally a viable option for a Hyperbloom build. You can easily mix and match sets, to give Raiden the best sub-stats possible. However, Hybrid is not the best option in a fully optimized build at the very endgame. Some full sets have strong bonuses, with the four-piece set bonus being very desirable. However, hybrid is easier to get, and faster to kick off, so use it as a starter, until you finish farming Gilded Dreams.

You can pick two sets that provide 80 EM with a two-piece bonus. These sets are Wanderer’s Troupe, Gilded Dreams, and Flower of Paradise Lost.

Gilded Dreams

This set gives 80 EM as a two-piece bonus, and a four-piece bonus gives different bonuses based on team composition. For every teammate with a different element than the wielder, you gain 50 EM. And for every teammate with the same element as the wielder, you gain 14% ATK.

We build Raiden as the sole Electro character, to ensure all the ownership of Hyperbloom goes to her. So overall, Raiden gets 150 EM from the passive, and 80 from the pieces bonus, for a total 230 EM. That’s a higher bonus than Hybrid sets, and typically better since Raiden doesn’t require certain sub-stats.

Overall, I recommend aiming to get a full Gilded Dreams set, because it drops from the same domain as Deepwood Memories. You need Deepwood Memories on Dendro characters in a Hyperbloom team, so farming this domain ends up being the most efficient.

Flower of Paradise Lost

This set gives 80 EM as a two-piece bonus, and a four-piece bonus gives a stacking buff to Hyperbloom damage, up to 140%. This bonus requires some time with consistent Hyperbloom proccing to ramp up, so don’t expect to have 100% uptime. Even with the downtime, Flower of Paradise Lost gives the highest damage output overall.

The only issue with it is being paired with another set in the same domain, that is not useful for most characters. So farming Flower of Paradise Lost is not always the most efficient way of spending your Resin. So the choice is yours.

Raiden Shogun Hyper-Fridge Talent Skills

Level talents in this order: Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attack

 Origin

By default, Normal And Charged Attacks are physical talents, and irrelevant in our build. Using Elemental Burst will convert them into Electro damage, though it doesn’t make much difference in a full EM build such as Hyperbloom.

Raiden plays perfectly fine from off-field in this team, and it’s better to have other characters on-field.

Transcendence: Baleful Omen

The Elemental Skill is the main talent in reactions teams, whether it’s Overload or Hyperbloom build. It summons a turret-like Fischl attack, but instead of deploying it directly on the field, it attaches to the active character and deals a joint attack whenever the enemy takes damage. It synergies very well with other turrets such as Nahida skill, Xingqiu burst, and both of Layla’s skill and burst. So Raiden’s skill automates the proc of Hyperbloom, and with 25 seconds of uptime, and 10 seconds cooldown, we have full uptime of Hyperbloom damage.

The internal cooldown (ICD) of Electro application on Raiden’s skill is irrelevant for Hyperbloom, because the ICD applies to each enemy or entity separately. Each Dendro seed is considered a different entity, so each hit of Raiden’s skill can trigger Hyperbloom upon contacting any seed on the ground. In an ideal scenario, Raiden can hit every 0.9 seconds, so it can quickly clear any number of seeds generated from Dendro and Hydro reactions.

These mechanics effectively make Raiden the best electro character to proc highest number of Hyperbloom.

Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu

We don’t make much use of Raiden Elemental burst in a Hyperbloom team. It apply too much Electro, that it would remove a lot of Yydro aura from enemies, and reduce bloom procs. On top of that, it’s more important to use Nahida’s normal attacks on the field.

Raiden Shogun Hyper-Fridge Team Composition

Genshin Impact has unique playstyles that rely on switching characters and chaining combos across these characters. So a solid part of this Hyper-Fridge build is knowing which characters will accompany Raiden Shogun, and what roles they will play.

In this section, I’ll fill you in on some of the best characters that synergize well with this build. It’s universally recommended that you use a five-star support character, and the most suitable among them for this build is Nahida. We take advantage of the characters with the highest elemental application, to make a top-tier team.

Nahida

The Dendro archon is naturally the best character to fill the Dendro role in teams that relies on a Dendro’s reaction. In this Hyper Fridge build, she’s more of a necessity than a luxury. Compared to Dendro MC, Nahida has the higher application of Dendro, and more AOE. Not only that, but she gives a potent EM buff to active character, helping the team to achieve higher damage.

Nahida skill marks enemies, and when you cause any reaction on any of them, Nahida will smite all marked enemies. This makes her the character with the biggest AOE in the entire game, even if enemies are not close together. She can also play as the driver for the team, with her range and excellent attack speed. As a Catalyst user, she can apply more dendro with her normal attacks. These applications on top of her elemental skill applications, increase the overall blooms team can proc. So overall, your Electro character can proc more Hyperbloom in return.

Not only that but in the occasion your Electro or Dendro takes over the aura of enemies, you can proc quicken. Quicken is a reaction that amplifies both Electro and Dendro damage, so you can build Nahida as a full damage dealer for massive damage output. Nahida’s personal damage is especially high when she’s the active character on-field because she benefits from her own buff that way.

Stats

Nahida has two mechanics that determine her stats. First, she gives an EM buff to the active character, based on the character with the highest EM on the team. This buff is 25% of the character’s EM, and is capped at 250. So you need a character in a team that has over 1000 EM, not necessarily Nahida herself. In a Hyper Fridge set up we have Raiden with the Gilded Dream set, who can get easily over 1000 EM, so we are not forced to build Nahida with full EM.

The second mechanic in Nahida’s kit is her 4th Ascension Passive, which grants her skill up to a maximum of 80% damage and 24% crit rate, based on her own EM. That makes Nahida’s spread damage increase from EM in three ways, not only once. That reduces the diminishing returns from getting so high EM, even though it doesn’t eliminate it entirely. So overall, we aim to get EM closer to roughly 800, with all buffs taken into account.

An easy build for Nahida in Hyper-Fridge is going for EM weapon, EM Sands, Dendro Goblet, and Crit Circlet. That’s especially good if you have either Nahida’s signature weapon or Sacrificial Fragments. These two weapons have very high EM stat, that help you reach closer to the cap, without switching Circlet and Goblet artifact to EM.

Another build is going for Crit weapon, EM, sands, Dendro Goblet, and EM circlet. It helps achieve a closer result to the previous builds but with weapons such as Solar Pearl or The Widsith.

For sub-stats, you should aim for Crit, and EM, then you are free to get an extra % Attack or ER. 

Weapon

Nahida has an exceptionally wide variety of weapon choices, due to her extraordinary scaling with a lot of stats. So I’ll highlight some of the most accessible choices, for F2P players, battlepass spenders, and heavy spenders.

Magic Guide

An easy three-star weapon. Magic Guide is the definitive free-to-play and starter weapon for Nahida. You get a very good 187 EM sub stat, and 24% damage passive against enemies affected by either Electro or Hydro. An easy to meet condition, in a Hyper-Fridge team that has an underlying Hydro aura a lot of the time, whether enemies are frozen or not.

Sometimes Dendro will overtake both Hydro and Electro, when your Nahida applies too much of it. So the uptime of the passive is not 100%. But overall, very strong weapon, that makes the floor for Nahida’s damage and buff much higher than her peers.

Sacrificial Fragments

The weapon has 221 EM sub-stat, 44 higher than Magic Guide, but no damage from passive. It’s better than Magic Guide if you don’t want to worry about the amount of elements you apply every second.

It also enables you to switch to Crit circlet, since you get closer to the cap of EM buff. It’s not very hard to acquire from free pulls on any banner. It doesn’t require refinements, since Nahida doesn’t care much about the second cast of her skill, so it’s also a F2P-friendly option.

The Widsith

The highest damage four-star weapon at max refinement, along with Solar Pearl. They are both Crit weapons, with The Widsith having Crit Damage as a sub stat, and Solar Pearl Crit rate as a main one. Aside from that, they both have various extra buffs from the passive. Both weapons excel with Nahida on-field, to trigger said passives, but fall behind if you strictly play Nahida off-field or quick swap only.

You can get The Widsith from both the standard banner and character banner, but getting max refinement will take some time. Solar Pearl on the other hand is locked behind buying a battle pass, which is not suitable for everyone. Even though you are already a spender, battle passes provide the highest value, and you are guaranteed the weapon, and don’t have to gamble for it.

A Thousand Floating Dreams

Nahida’s signature weapon provides some buffs to the entire team, and naturally the strongest option for Nahida. Though the small damage difference, and the fact that the damage of a Hyper-Fridge team has a high floor, these make spending money on a five-star weapon not very appealing, nor very efficient.

It’s generally not recommended to pull on weapons banners for beginners or F2P players. For veterans, it’s only worth pulling if the two rate-up weapons are absolutely good picks, so you don’t lose your Primogems in case you end up unlucky.

Artifacts

The new Dendro set, Deepwood Memories is hands down the best artifact set for all Dendro characters. It increases Dendro damage, but also shreds the Dendro resistance of enemies. This allows all characters in the team to deal higher Dendro damage, from direct skills, and reactions alike.

Hyperbloom is a Dendro type reaction, so Deepwood Memories buffs Raiden’s damage, as well as Nahida’s own damage.

Xingqiu

Xingqiu is the best source of off-field Hydro applications. Unlike the standard Hyperbloom team, which can still function with a character who has lower Hydro application, Hyper-fridge really prefers Xingqiu over any other character. Hydro is used in two reactions, one is freeze, and the other is Bloom. There’s a third reaction that occurs often with Raiden Shogun, that’s Electrocharged. However, it’s not very consistent, and doesn’t consume much of Hydro aura.

Xingqiu with the Sacrificial Sword generates good elemental particles, to help himself and his team recharge their burst. He also adds much more survivability to the team, with a damage reduction, small heals, and more importantly resistance to interruptions. His existence on the team makes Layla’s shields last longer and adds little heals to cover the situations when her shield duration ends. He also adds direct damage to the team, that can be buffed by the Tenacity of the Millelith set we use on Layla.

Stats

This team has no healer but has a strong shielder with Layla. We don’t have to rely on healing from Xingqiu, and can build him as a full-damage dealer.

As the sole Hydro on the team, we need a good chunk of Energy Recharge to sustain him. Fortunately, the Sacrificial Sword covers most of Xingqiu’s ER needs, on top of getting more energy from the extra cast of his elemental skill. So we go for Attack on Sands, Hydro Damage on Goblet, and Crit Rate or Crit Damage on the headpiece for main stats. Also aiming to get as many Energy Recharge and Crit as we can from sub-stats.

Hydro Damage is especially important to increase Xingqiu‘s damage mitigation buff, so

Weapon

The standard weapon for Xingqiu is Sacrificial Sword . It can reset the cooldown of Xingqiu‘s Elemental Skill, to use two casts instead of one. It gets better with a higher refinement level, so make sure to get more duplicates of this weapon. Overall it’s always a reliable weapon, even though not the weapon dealing highest damage.

The preferred alternative in a Hyperbloom team is Sapwood Blade, the craftable sword from Sumuru. The weapon provide higher base attack, 30% energy recharge sub stat, and a passive that generates a leaf upon triggering bloom. Picking up the leaf will grant the character 60~120 Elemental Mastery for 12 sec. So it’s a good buff to pass to either Nahida or Raiden.

Artifacts

Emblem of Severed Fate gives Xingqiu the best personal damage. However, Raiden damage output is much more important. So we have the option to equip Xingqiu with Instructor set, It make Xingqiu‘s own damage go lower, but give a team-wide Elemental Mastery buff. I don’t recommend Instructor over Emblem of Severed Fate, but it’s a choice you can make.

Layla

One of the newest characters, was introduced after the Sumeru update, so she automatically fits in well with certain Dendro teams. Layla is Cryo character, who can give the entire team a strong shield, and applies Cryo damage from off-field. With her constellations, she might buff normal and charged attacks of active character.

Hyper-Fridge heavily depends on characters that apply Cryo from off-field, to freeze enemies, and prevent Electro from eating the entire Hydro aura. The mechanic is not hard to understand and relies on the fact that frozen enemies have both auras: Cryo and underlying Hydro. When Electro reacts with Hydro alone, it eats up a huge portion of the aura, reducing its timer by a lot. But when Electro reacts with both Hydro and Cryo on enemies, it only uses a small portion of the duration on both auras. So the Hydro stays a little longer, and that enables Dendro to proc more bloom reactions, resulting in higher Hyperbloom procs overall.

The best thing about Layla in the Hyper-Fridge team is that she does not restrict the team to certain areas. Unlike Diona and Rosaria, Layla can still apply Cryo wherever your team moves, and auto aims toward the enemy’s direction.

Stats

Layla scales her shield with HP stat, so we focus on giving her as much HP as we can. She also applies nice Cryo from off-field with her Elemental Burst, so we stack her with energy recharge to burst on cooldown.

I recommend going with ER sword, HP Sands, HP goblet, and HP Circlet. Replace the circlet with a Crit Rate one if your weapon of choice is the Favonius Sword. For sub-stats, we can get some extra ER, Crit Rate, and HP.

Weapon

Favonius Sword provides huge ER stat for Layla, but also has a passive that generates energy for the entire team. The passive proc only on Crit hits, and while the wielder is on the field, so make sure to build enough Crit Rate.

If your Favonius Sword is occupied by another character, you can resort to other ER weapons, such as the Skyrider Sword, Skyward Blade, or Festering Desire.

Artifacts

The best artifact set for maximizing shield strength is the Tenacity of the Millelith set, as the two-piece bonus is HP%. The four-piece bonus gives extra shield strength and a team-wide attack buff. The attack buff doesn’t affect Hyperbloom damage, but it affects Xingqiu‘s burst damage, as well as Nahida’s damage.

With Layla’s shield hitting from off-field, the team will have 100% uptime of Tenacity of the Millelith buff. So she’s one of the best characters to use this set with.
