Bioware Teases Announcement Next Dragon Age Game at TGA 2018

In a short but sweet announcement, Bioware draws out their reveal of the next Dragon Age game with a teaser trailer.

Bioware Teases Announcement Next Dragon Age Game at TGA 2018

Bioware have been hinting that they had some Dragon Age news to share at this year’s The Game Awards 2018. They share a teaser trailer that only gives a few seconds of footage followed by #TheDreadWolfRises which is reference to one of the gods. However, little else was given, no platforms or even type of game.

In a blog post that accompanied the announcement Matthew Goldman the Creative Director of the game gave this statement which hints at “party-based combat” as well as “romance”:

Over the years I’ve taken on increasing challenges: building vast living worlds, devising fun party-based combat and illustrating fantastic stories. Now, I’m honored and excited to continue BioWare’s rich legacy of colorful companions, romance and epic choices in my favorite fantasy franchise.

We’ve gathered our strongest team yet and are venturing forth on the most epic quest ever!

But it seems there is little else to reveal at this point as the Executive Producer Mark Darrah explains they “won’t be sharing any details for now.”

While we won’t be sharing any details for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire™, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days.

You can check out the short teaser below:

Recently there have been rumours that Dragon Age 4 (no exact title has been revealed yet) that it would be “at least three years away” from release.

  1. Any hope this new game won’t go down the politically correct path is already gone. “Narrative director” John Epler has already declared his intention to make the game “political”. Sad what a one great company has fallen to.

Ordinarily I’m sad when EA closes one of the game companies I’ve loved (Bullfrog, Origin, the part of Maxis not pumping out “The Sims” DLC, etc.), but it seems the Bioware I once loved is already dead. Hopefully Anthem will tank and Bioware will be out of its misery.

No; the DLC clarified who he was, and set up his plans to re-unify the Fade with Thedas, resulting in the death of all not joining him. Plus, Tevinter is likely going to play a part in the story, too.

  3. Now i want to see more….
    What is this ?
    That’s not enough….I want more….
    Please :00013:

  4. So they’re continuing the story with the bald elf guy? Didn’t that get wrapped up in one of the million or so DLC for Inquisition?
