Resident Evil 7 & Resident Evil 2 Remake Coming to Apple Devices

Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the acclaimed first-person horror game that debuted back in 2017, will be available for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max starting July 2, 2024. Similarly, it will arrive on Mac and iPad with an M1 chip or later.

Resident Evil VII & The Resident Evil 2 Remake Will Be Released on Apple Devices

Resident Evil is a franchise that has grown exponentially over the years. While the early titles, especially the fourth numbered installment, achieved unparalleled popularity, the series has reached its peak since the release of Resident Evil VII. Each new game launched in the market sells millions of copies.

Under this premise, it’s worth noting that two of the main contributors to this success, and also among the top-selling games in the series, are Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 Remake. These games represent the pinnacle of the franchise in both first-person and third-person perspectives, respectively. And while one might think they’ve reached all possible platforms, a recent announcement could expand their reach even further: their release on Apple devices.

It was confirmed during Apple’s WWDC 2024 that Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil 2 Remake will come to Apple devices, though it will be a staggered release. The seventh installment is about to land on the company’s platforms, as it will be available on July 2 on iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPads and Macs with an M1 chip or later.

On the other hand, Resident Evil 2 Remake is still in development, but it has been confirmed that it will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Additionally, it’s important to note that we are waiting to find out if these versions will have exclusive features. It’s reasonable to imagine that if these games are successful, we can expect future installments to also be released on Apple devices. Time will tell, but until then, we remain eager to learn more details about Resident Evil IX, whose official name has reportedly been revealed.

Meanwhile, if you want to enjoy these Resident Evil games now, remember that Resident Evil VII and the Resident Evil 2 Remake are available on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. Keep in mind that the Nintendo console version is available through the cloud.
