Activision today confirmed that Destiny 2 will be releasing this year, sometime in the fall of 2017. In an investor presentation they had the following slide to share:
Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.
In the closing question and answer period, they said that the game would release in the fall (which confirms our theory) and will have a “great cast of memorable, relatable characters” as well as a “cinematic storyline.” It will designed for “someone who wants a great, more casual first-person experience” and will be expanding it’s reach into more international markets.
We already new they planned to release this year so the confirmation is good, now all we need is know what it will look like! Rumors abound of course, specifically that we will be repelling a Cabal invasion, it will be more open world and also available on PC. It’s really anybody’s guess but we know they’re ramping up development! We’ll be sure to keep monitoring the news and bring updates as they come!
