In an effort to redact the many translation errors found in the latest Ys VIII action-RPG, NIS America went the extra mile by rewriting and re-recording the entire localization script.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana – Second Life!
As revealed in a blogpost by Alan Costa, who is taking charge of the re-translation project, mentions that a new script has been completed by rewriting nearly “100%” of the old lines, with only the “battle lines (exertion noises and the like)” left intact.
Further edits to refine the script may be made as the project progresses and he also mentions that the entire voice acting cast will be brought back for the re-recordings.
This new script will be added to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game via a patch, and will be included in the delayed PC version once it launches.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is currently available on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.
