Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Localization Update!

Publisher NIS America has shared a new update regarding their re-localization effort for the Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana  JRPG.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana – Dub!

Alan Costa, who is heading the effort, revealed in their latest blogpost update that dialogue recordings for most of the game’s main characters will be wrapping up soon.

With only the characters Laxia, Dana, and Sahad remaining to be voiced. Which Costa expects to be completed by the end of the week.

“We are currently into our eighth straight day of recording and it’s looking like we should be all finished by the end of this week.”

Costa also noted the enthusiasm of the actors and their resulting resulting performances, which sounds like VA quality and progress will be steady.

And he hopes to have an build ready by mid-December for Falcom to implement into Ys VIII.  After this task, the team will be moving on to the unvoiced sections of the game.

“Since voice re-recording will be wrapping up, what’s next?”  says Costa “Once we finish up recording, we will move into all the unvoiced sections of the game.”

Despite its shortcomings, Ys VIII  is one of the best games in the franchise and you can check out our review to find out why.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana  is currently available on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. While a PC release is expected sometime in early 2018.
