These days fantasy titles are plenty, and what developer Atomic Wolf has decided is to play into the genre with a fantasy-themed parody game. Yet Another Fantasy Title or YAFT sets to make fun of itself as a top-down open-world Action-RPG. As the name would suggest the game will contain all the makings of a fantasy game, with sidequests, magic, 15 medieval weapons and mounts ranging from unicorns to tamed wolves.

The Steam description teases “absurd humor and bard music” if that doesn’t scream a fun-filled RPG time I don’t know what will. The story sets you up as the mischievous rogue who always seems to be getting in trouble. Deemed “The Chosen One” but only by accident. On an adventure to kill dragons that are currently terrorising the neighbourhood (including answering nature’s call mid-flight), fight stinky ogres and other fantastical creatures. The developers are the same minds that worked on Rustler, a Grand Theft horse parody of GTA, so this game seems to be in their wheelhouse.

YAFT looks to be complete with wizard parodies such as Gandalf.

The quirky humour isn’t the only draw as the trailer previews spell casting on the battlefield, as well as melee combat with a trusty sword making for some fun looking fights. But it’s not all noble deeds, as apparently, you can fight against the Robinhood complex by robbing the rich and forgetting about giving to the poor if that’s your goal. Learning magic also sounds like it could be a little sketchy, as your mentors are suspicious wizards who “drink way too many potions”.

Yet Another Fantasy Title will be released on PC, no launch date has been announced as of yet.
