XCOM 2 War of the Chosen Gameplay Video Looks At The Zombie-Like Lost Enemies

2K Games and Firaxis have given us another look at XCOM 2’s upcoming DLC, War of the Chosen, with a video look at one of the new enemy units you’ll be dealing with, called the Lost.

XCOM 2 War of the Chosen DLC – The Lost

When the Aliens invaded Earth, many of the world’s great cities were devastated by bombardment and bioweapons. Those mass graveyards and abandoned buildings have been left alone for 20 years. In War of the Chosen, XCOM forces go back … and find the Lost.

The Lost were once human, now husks that fill the old cities.  These heavily mutated things are the result of prolonged exposure to the alien tech used to subdue humans during the early days of the invasion. They are mindless ambling shells. A single Lost is no challenge; however, you will never find them alone. The Lost roam abandoned cities in hordes. If confronted, they will start swarming whomever gets in their way. The Lost are drawn to loud noises. So, as you’re fighting off enemy forces, you’re potentially calling attention to your units. The Lost swarm in continuing waves, eventually overwhelming you.

As you’re fighting back enemy forces, The Lost can show up on a map.  There is a chance to fight back the Lost hordes for a bit, though. By successfully taking down the Lost with headshots, you score a free action. Chaining headshots and making determinations on the weapons you have, such as damage, range, ammo are the keys to slow their advance. Then you can attempt to lure them towards enemy positions.

Ready for some zombie action? Their arrival in the middle of missions should provide a nice bit of random thrill to manage. Thoughts on the Lost? XCOM 2 War of the Chosen releases August 29th for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.

I was surprised to see the dlc marked at 40$.
That isn’t a normal dlc price. That’s an expansion.
All long as the content is there, I’m happy to pay it. This is definitely one of those games I enjoy jumping between.

I’m still hoping it will implement a way to play into infinity. I love my squads and don’t like that the game just ends after the last mission.
