World of Warcraft Free to Play for Lapsed Subscriptions

It might strange to think you’ll get rewarded with free play time for not paying your subscription but it looks like that’s kind of true as Blizzard allows players with lapsed subscriptions to play for free up until June 24th, 2018.

If you own World of Warcraft and haven’t checked in for a while, Blizzard have a welcome back weekend where previous players can play for free. It was also reported on WoWHead that players who have yet to purchase past expansions such as Legion or Battle for Azeroth have had their account upgraded to include Warlords of Draenor the fifth expansion of WoW. Simply log into your account to check to see the current state of the game, it doesn’t cost anything.

You can now play WoW on any character, doesn’t matter their level until June 24th. After this date you will need to have a subscription as usual to continue playing. There is also a 25% sale for items such as appearances, faction and race changes which will should end on Sunday also.

With only a month and half left until the release of the next expansions Battle for Azeroth, this welcome back weekend is a good way for players to enjoy some free game time or experience WoW currently if they haven’t returned in a while. The latest expansion will launch on Mac and Windows PC on August 14th, 2018.
