CD Projekt Red – the developer of the Witcher 3 – has teased a crossover appearance for Geralt. Speculation has begun regarding which game it may be.
Geralt crossover appearance teased by CD Projekt Red
CD Projekt Red is teasing the return Geralt of Rivia, the star of The Witcher games. However, he won’t be showing up in one of his own games. Instead, according to a tweet from community lead Marcin Momot, it looks like Geralt will guest star in a game due out later this year.
“What if Geralt was going to step out of the Witcher for the very first time to make an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year?” – Marcin Momot, via Twitter.
The tweet has prompted a flurry of speculation from fans as to which game he may appear in. The most popular theory so far is that he’s going to appear in Soul Calibur 6, which is due to launch later this year. Soul Calibur games have already featured some crazy crossover characters (such as Spawn and Yoda), so this theory seems possible.
There are also requests for an official Geralt of Rivia costume in Monster Hunter: World or Final Fantasy 15, two games with in-depth character creators that players have already used to recreate Geralt.
Another game which players are suggesting he could appear in is the next Super Smash Bros title. That would be odd, as there has never been a Witcher game on a Nintendo console.
