In a new blog post, Ubisoft has detailed a preview of the upcoming major update to The Division. These changes will be playable when the Public Test Server launches next week on PC. These changes are not set in stone, and Ubisoft has promised an exhaustive patch notes for the update in the future.

The post outlines some of the changes the update will bring to every area of the game. The focus is on stats, gear, weapons and skills in order to rebalance the game for players and bring it more in line with what players are looking for in a shooter experience.

The weapons, gear and skills will all get balancing tweaks in an attempt to encourage players to use them more broadly, rather than gravitate towards a select few. Weapon talents are receiving a similar adjustment. The end goal is to make players feel more powerful by removing some of the high end numbers in exchange for a steady increase in power as you earn and equip better equipment.

The Public Test Server goes online for PC players on Monday, September 26th and will give players a chance to influence these planned changes. We’ll continue to monitor the upcoming update, so check back for more.
