Previously, Nihon Falcom announced that the entire Trails of Cold Steel saga will be ported onto the PlayStation 4. Falcom made good on that claim and has revealed Trails of Cold Steel I: Kai.
Trails of Cold Steel I – Remastered
Its full name is The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I: Kai – Thors Military Academy 1204 and is the first game in the series that will launch for the PlayStation 4 on March 8th 2018 in Japan.
This remaster will feature support for resolutions of up to 4K, a frame rate of 60FPS, improved audio quality as well as an inclusion of a new “High-Speed Skip” mode.
The “High-Speed Skip” mode is a feature that will provide players the option to fast-forward the game by twice its normal speed and quadruple the speed during battles.
Also, this PlayStation 4 port will be compatible with Save Data from the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Trails of Cold Steel I, allowing players to pick up where they left off in the story.
Furthermore, bonus items can be unlocked by reading a Save Data from Trails of Cold Steel III and includes MAX Bonding Points, Character Costumes and 300,000 Mira for your subsequent playthrough.
The first two Trails of Cold Steel games are currently available in English for the PS3, PS Vita, and PC (except Trails of Cold Steel II, which is coming soon to the PC). While a Western release for the third game has yet to be announced.
