Tribes of Midgard
- Tribes of Midgard will be getting a massive update to its main game mode ahead of its release on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
- Last year’s Tribes of Midgard was a surprisingly refreshing take on chaotic defense. It was part survival game, part tower defense, all wrapped up in a unique hand-drawn coat of paint. While it was able to fully meld two seemingly separate genres into a nice package, it seems the developers want to try a new direction this time.
- Tribes of Midgard’s Survival 2.0 update contains a number of changes. This is all in preparation for the game’s release on the Xbox ecosystem as well as the Nintendo Switch
- Instead of spawning into an established town, players will pop up right beside Yggdrasil. It will be up to them to build a base and protect the tree with their lives.
- Everything related to building and creating will come from the Allforge. Players can place one for free, and it will enable the construction of Crafting Stations, and more.
- The lands of Midgard will be different, yet familiar to returning players. Players must create everything from scratch with the Allforge as well as start out on a randomized map.
- To help survive out in the wilderness, players can build beds that will be the same as respawn points in case players meet their untimely deaths.
- To learn about all the changes coming with this new update, and with all news in this video the link is in the description below.

Hogwarts Legacy & Gamescom
- The highly anticipated Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy has now been announced to be delayed to February 10th 2023. In a recent post via the official Hogwarts Legacy twitter account, the developers expressed that the game needs “more time” in order to “to deliver the best possible game experience”.
- No doubt a disappointment to excited fans everywhere, the list of delayed games now slated for 2023 is growing even longer. Previously other high-profile games such as Forspoken and Starfield have already been pushed to next year. This makes for a very stacked 2023.
- Earlier this year Warner Bros and developer Avalanche Studios spilt the beans on a number of details about the Action-RPG. This included giving fans a peek at combat, iconic Hogwart’s locations, spells, the Room of Requirement and much more.
- In case you missed it, check out our video Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay Impressions: Deep Dive Into Combat, Spells, Abilities, And More.
- But we won’t have to wait much longer in order to see more of the game, as just this week producer and host of Gamescom Geoff Keighley revealed there will be an exclusive look at Hogwarts Legacy during Opening Night Live on August 23rd.
- Hogwarts Legacy will now release on February 10th 2023 for Playstation, Xbox and PC. The Switch version will also have its release date revealed soon.

Genshin Impact
- The release date for the long-awaited patch 3.0 for Genshin Impact was announced this week for August 24th. Travelers will finally be able to walk around the new Sumeru Region and play with the Dendro Element.
- Hoyoverse has been teasing fans with bits and pieces of info over the past few weeks. We’ve already had previews of the Sumeru Region and the new Dendro Characters coming with the update.
- The new region is split into two biomes, one full of lush rainforests and another an arid desert. In terms of enemies, there appear to be two major bosses being introduced in Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update, the Electro Regisvine and the new boss called the Jadeplume Terrorshroom.
- New 5 star characters include the Dendro archer Tighnari. Other characters joining include the elemental boomerang thrower Collei and the electro genie summoner Dori. Five new craftable weapons will be joining in patch 3.0 and new events will be arriving as well.

Guild Wars 2
- Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, Guild Wars 2 is also coming to Steam on August 23rd. Since its inception, the game has had over 16 million unique players roam the lands of Tyria.
- Throughout the years, Guild Wars 2 has had three expansion releases, five “Living Story” story seasons, and tons of free events and updates.
- Guild Wars 2 has traditionally run on a separate, standalone client by ArenaNet’s design. Expansions and microtransaction currencies were purchased directly on the website or on the in-game menus. Coming on August 23 is the game’s official Steam Release.
- Players can pick up Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire expansions together in a bundle. The latest expansion End of Dragons is available separately. ArenaNet are also planning to release a Complete Collection which will contain roughly 10 years of content.
- We can also expect to find a 10 Year Anniversary gift in characters who are 10 years old on August 28. It is nice that every character has a yearly “Birthday” and receives rewards as well.

Final Fantasy
- Final Fantasy is a long-running franchise that once upon a time was thought to be the final game of the studio, but proved otherwise. Now facing its 16th entry of the mainline series, Naoki Yoshida director of the MMORPG FFXIV explains why the long series is beginning to struggle.
- Final Fantasy XVI is the next RPG in the series, set to release in 2023 for Playstation 5. Yoshida or as he is known by many as Yoshi-P was recently interviewed by Inverse, and shared his thoughts on the latest project.
- As for what exactly Final Fantasy is, he points out for him, it’s about “a deep story” containing “rich gaming design” with the inclusion of “chocobos, moogles and summons”.
- But one thing that is worrying him is the progression of Final Fantasy as a series. He shares that in order for FF to find success, it will depend on how it adapts to the “industry trends” and believes “the series is currently struggling”. The reason behind this is that there are a number of requests in terms of the direction of the game, and it isn’t possible to satisfy them all in one game. The answer is to continue to produce “multiple games, and continue creating the best we can at any given time”.
- Hopefully, we’ll be getting a closer look at the game soon, as previously Yoshida shared the next trailer will release sometime this Fall and that this time it will concentrate on the story elements of the game.

Dying Light 2
- The DLC Bloody Ties, is the first of the two-story focused content set to release for Dying Light 2. The new trailer gives a brief look at the upcoming DLC.
- In the teaser trailer gives us a first look at the mayhem set to unleash with the new DLC. It shows two figures sparring in combat, before one opponent brutally slaughters the other. He then claims a skull-like crown for his own. The trailer also announces there will be a full look at the content at Gamescom on August 23rd, which is Opening Night Live.
- The location also is set for “a specific place outside of the Villedor city limits”. From the looks of the trailer, there is some arena or Thunderdome situation going on. In the background we can see “Carnage Hall” which seems to confirm the one-on-one arena.
- Previously the first major story DLC was set to release in the summer of 2022, but was pushed to September in order to have a bit more time to add polish. The post-launch road map for Dying Light 2 was also revealed to span over the course of 5 years.
- Dying Light 2 is currently available on Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PC and will release on Nintendo Switch via cloud version later this year.
