THQ Nordic has changed a bit since they were called Nordic Games and they have great goals to continue making strides. They have released a press release stating that they won’t be attending E3 but will be joining Gamescom and Pax West.

The silent flying game publisher has several titles on their hands but information on them have been scarce. BioMutant, Darksiders 3, and This is the Police 2 are all scheduled for a 2018 release but besides that details are hush hush.

THQ Nordic’s press release states:

It is with great regret that we at THQ Nordic must report that we will be unable to miss a single moment of this great sporting event. Therefore, we will be forced to stay in our lovely Viennese beer gardens, blowing the froth off a couple, watching football and one or two cool press conferences on Twitch (looking at you, Devolver) instead of rocking it ourselves.

We have to admit, we are going to miss our 9 AM pint of beer in the “Ye Olde King’s Head” Pub in Santa Monica, where they show all matches live, but with the World Cup being held in Russia, it would mean a 7 AM beer – that’s too early, even for Austrians, let alone the Swedes.

We are looking forward to presenting all our great upcoming games like Darksiders 3, Biomutant, Fade to Silence or Wreckfest and even some unannounced titles for the first time at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany and shortly after at PAX West in Seattle.

This is an interesting move by THQ Nordic choosing to skip E3 as it’s a major games convention that developers usually go out of their way to plan for, although EA similarly opted out to hold their own press event as well as Nintendo no longer attends E3. Does this mean some titles aren’t ready or is this just a way to gather more buzz about their games? Gamescom will take place during August 21st – August 25th this year and there is still no official announcement regarding the exact dates of PAX West but it will take place sometime in September.

If we presume everything is going smoothly we should see Darksiders 3 released in October, BioMutant in November, and This is the Police 2 in December. Let’s see how things will play out.
