So let’s get into it.
Blizzcon 2023
- Blizzcon is in full swing this week. But as this video is recorded before the major festivities kick off here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening over the weekend.
- Happening from November 3rd to 4th in Anaheim California, the annual convention is a place where Blizzard and its fans can celebrate many beloved franchises. This includes Diablo, Overwatch, Warcraft, StarCraft, and Hearthstone.
- This year marks the return to an in-person event, with plenty to see and do on the showroom floor. The convention will have a couple of days of events and deep dives into their main IPs including a campfire chat about Diablo 4.
- This is also the time for news announcements and updates on your favourite games. So hopefully we’ve heard some good stuff by now or we’re disappointed. Everything is livestreamed and free this year, so need to purchase a virtual ticket unless you want the in-game loot. If you can’t wait for next week’s rundown you can check out Fextralife.com for updates.

Persona 5 Tactica
- Developer Atlus has unleashed some more gameplay of the upcoming Persona 5 Tactica a spin-off to the main series. Shown in this trailer are some new interactive elements, challenging foes and a few of the Persona-weapon fusions. This will surely give the Phantom Thieves some new ways to take on enemies in this more strategy-based RPG.
- Instead of having free range to wander the stylish streets of Shibuya, players will be battling on grid-based battlefields. The battlefield is just as deadly as your opponents as there are explosive barrels, as well as dash squares for a quick manoeuvre to a higher point.
- The range of enemies will require tackling some fights differently than others in Persona 5 Tactica. For example the giant SUMO-MATON can really do some damage by grabbing and throwing whatever gets in its way including those on his own side.
- If you want to make more customisable Personas, head to the Velvet Room to fuse together different Personas to make new ones. This is also the place to make new powerful Persona-Weapons that aren’t readily available in the store.
- Persona 5 Tactica looks to be a fun spin-off with a more tactical edge. The new environmental elements will surely throw some spanners into the works. If that’s not enough challenge you can go all the way up to Merciless difficulty to really spice things up. The game will be heading to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 17th.

Baldur’s Gate 3
- Xbox players have been awaiting the arrival of the CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series X|S and it’s still happening this year according to the developer. The game will be winging its way to the Xbox Series this year according to a recent confirmation tweet from Larian Studio’s Swen Vincke.
- The launch of the game has one major absence as that was the lack of the Xbox version of the game. Running into a snag earlier this year, the developer Larian had been tackling the console’s split screen issue, especially on the lighter model Xbox Series S. It finally came to a head that the Series S would forgo the split screen co-op in order to push the release along.
- Vincke has confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will still be launching on Xbox this year, so that means from now until the end of December as the platform window.
- Patch 4.0 has now dropped, with over 1000 fixes and changes. If you want to know all the details just check out our video or head to our Baldur’s Gate 3 wiki for all the latest.

Lies of P
- Neowiz and Round8 Studio addressed the masses in a new video for Lies of P. In a Director’s Letter they went over what’s next for the Action-RPG. Confirmed are plans for an upcoming DLC and even more great news that a sequel is also coming.
- Another patch will be dropping this November that will focus on weapon balance. Some weapons will be getting some tweaks specifically for the weapons assemble system that lets players mix and match Blades and Handles for the ultimate customisation.
- One major change will be allowing players to unlock the Rising Dodge ability as a default skill from the beginning. Also as a gift to players who are fans of Alidoro, they will be gaining an Alidoro costume which was much requested.
- Lies of P crossover with Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is still underway, but the developer is keen to offer something of high quality. The devs are fans of Wo Long and want to meet the expectations of fans just the same.
- The video goes on to show a quick peek at the new DLC coming to Lies of P. Unfortunately, Choi couldn’t show us any gameplay but did give fans a taste through the concept artwork of the DLC. We see P on a ship which could mean we’re going to sea. Then there’s the eerie-looking structure.
- The developer does say this is just the “tip of the iceberg” and is it me or does that ship look a little frosty? In the meantime drop by our Lies of P wiki for all the latest info.

Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
- Developer The Chinese Room released a new video this week for Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 all about the main character Phyre. This is a fully voice character which is quite different from the first game which featured a more silent protagonist.
- Phyre here is different, as she will have a backstory attached to her. Aside from that, she is an Elder Kindred, a grizzled veteran of the vampire world if you will.
- At the start of Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines 2, Phyre has been asleep for about a hundred years. She awakes in modern-day Seattle. Trying to regain her bearings with the new modern world and who is now calling the shots.
- Players can also choose which clan Phyre will eventually end up in. The original game had 7 joinable clans, but Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 will only have 5 joinable ones.
- Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is now slated for Fall 2024.

Remnant 2
- Remnant 2 is getting a new DLC called The Awakened King. It’s the first DLC for drop for the souls-like shooter RPG coming to platforms PC, PS5, Xbox Series on November 14th.
- The DLC will be available as part of the DLC bundle or individually for around $10. Those who own the ultimate edition will gain it at no extra cost.
- As the DLC title suggests it follows the story of a king awakening and now is out for blood. The new DLC offers a new biome, new quests, dungeons and areas based on the world of Losomn.
- It also introduces a brand new archetype called the Ritualist meaning new perks and traits. The new content brings new equipment and items, for plenty of build customisation.

Blue Protocol
- The colossal MMORPG between Amazon Games and Bandai Namco Online Blue Protocol will be holding a closed technical beta test for the western release next week. The CB will be happening between November 8th 2PM PT to 10th 2PM PT for North America and Europe. As it is a closed test, those interested will need to sign up on the official website for a chance to take part.
- Futhermore, as this is a closed beta, those participating will be under a strict NDA so that means no sharing gameplay, streaming or talking about their experiences in Blue Protocol. So what happens in Blue Protocol, stays in Blue Protocol.
- This will be open to the PC platform only, set to focus on testing the server’s infrastructure on a single mega server. Progress in the test will not carry over to the full game launch.
- In case you missed it, Blue Protocol takes on the MMORPG genre with an anime-styled look. The free-to-play game has already been released in Japan but will be heading west with the help of the publisher Amazon Games.
- The game is expected to launch west for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2024 after it was delayed from its initial 2023 launch plan.

‘Ghost’ MMORPG
- A brand new MMO is currently in the works. Ex-WoW and Riot game designer Greg Street or Ghostcrawler as he’s known online is working on a new “AAA MMO” currently codename ‘Ghost’ under Fantastic PIxel Castle. The independent first party studio is part of NetEase Games.
- So far there are few concept art images on the official website showing floating islands and characters armed with swords wearing heavy armor. Players will travel to worlds, shard will “power up” characters with the focus on rebuilding and bringing resources back. The game will have base building and adventuring through wild lands.
- The game aims to reduce barriers so players can play with friends with ease, no matter the level, faction, server etc. There will also be a variety of ways to play with a set number of class options at launch and further classes to unlock through rewards.
- The AAA MMO Ghost will be coming to PC. A Twitch livestream will be happening on November 8th at 2PM ET. But in the meantime you can check out our video on why we’re excited for a new MMO and what we know so far.

Elden Ring
- It’s been quite a few months since there has been any update on the next major content update for Elden Ring under the expansion Shadow of the Erdtree. It was back in February this year when the DLC was revealed rather quietly on Twitter with a single screenshot but little else in terms of scope.
- However, in the recent financial earning presentation from the parent company Kadokawa Corporation, there is a slight update referring to the elusive expansion.
- On slide four of the document, there is one line that shares that development for Shadow of the Erdtree is “proceeding smoothly”. Unfortunately, it doesn’t give any hints as to when the DLC will be released but does give hope that things are progressing well.
- Doubling down on the fact there has been no launch date announcement since the DLC reveal, a further FAQ shut down the question of when it will be released with that they are “currently working hard on the development” but they have no time frame at this moment.
- If you’re curious to know when we believe Shadow of the Erdtree will be released check out our video Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree – Where is the Expansion?
