Deathbound
- A new party combat soulslike is coming in 2024 by the name of Deathbound. Developer Trialforge Studio and publisher Tate Multimedia have shared the title will be coming to PC via Steam next year.
- The city of Akratya is brimming with dangerous and ruthless monsters. It is up to a party of heroes to conquer, using traditional swords and shields. Using a range of skills and abilities, players can craft their own playstyle. What’s unique about Deathbound is that players can switch between heroes in their party on the fly.
- Trialforge also promises Deathbound will deliver some challenging enemies and bosses to face. They are based on the theme of the five stages of grief. The world is a mix of a technological past and a medieval present.
- Using Binding, players can combine powers to unleash Morphstrikes. This could mean the difference between life and death, turning the tide of battle. It’s also through binding that the memories and identities of the fallen will be discovered. The narrative is told through not only items and environment but the essence will unravel the world.
- Deathbound will be released in 2024.

Remnant 2
- Developer Gunfire Games recently share thoughts on new features for third person shooter RPG Remnant 2 including crossplay, loadouts, possible transmog and more.
- Fans of the souslike shooter Remnant 2, got to ask their burning questions to developer Gunfire Games in a Reddit AMA recently. The game’s director David Adams fielded questions including whether the co-op title will receive crossplay between platforms.
- The answer is yes they are looking into having the game work across platforms but don’t expect the feature to come soon. Adams explained that there are “issues with the different platforms”. But ultimately they are actively trying to make it happen.
- As there are DLCs planned for Remnant 2 within one year of launch, you might be wondering if new classes or Archetypes will be added. It was simply answered with a short but sweet “yes” meaning we can expect some new ways to take down enemies in the upcoming expansions.
- They have already started work on the first DLC and it’s “looking pretty cool” according to the devs and there are “a lot of plans” for the game.
- How good would it be if we could swap out weapon loadouts? Or whole armor sets? Well another short but sweet reply lets us know they have it on their to do.

Dark Envoy
- In the latest trailer for Dark Envoy we get a brief overview of whatr players can expect in terms of classes for the fantasy title. The developer Event Horizon introduces four classes, Warrior, Ranger, Engineer and Adept. There are 12 specialisations to choose from, with each class having 3 different specialisations. Having 6 companions also brings a host of other skills to utilise.
- The video goes over some of the specialisations such as the Adept Elementlist, who focuses on dealing damage and crowd control using strong ice and fire magic. Another shown is the Engineer or “technomancer” on the other hand is more of an all-rounder, but excels in support. Specialising in all things tech, can control lightning and summon constructs.
- In case you missed it, Dark Envoy comes from the same developer of the Tower of Time. In this upcoming real-time tactical RPG players have free reign to explore the semi-open world, tackle procedurally generated dungeons while taking on their own tactical objectives.
- A blend of non-linear path exploration, XCOM and Divinity inspiration, but doing away with RNG and relying more on the real-time tactical prowess of its players to win the game. Dark Envoy is expected to release sometime in 2023.

- When we took a look at the game earlier this year, we drew comparisons to Bloodborne as it covers some familiar territory. But the game also has something fresh to offer with its fairytale setting with some horror-filled twists. As the game’s title teases, there is a Lie System, which will have some weighted outcomes. Exactly what they are you’ll have to find out.
- Players will get to play as the fabled puppet Pinnochio who wields weapons galore. His left arm has an array of attachments called Legion Arms, which players can use to their advantage, giving a Sekiro-type spin. The arm can even help P explore Krat, a Swiss army arm if you will. Avowed
- Obsidian Entertainment have been celebrating their 20th anniversary, releasing a series of videos going behind the scenes of the studio. In their latest episode they also shared a few details about the upcoming Avowed.
- In the finale video of the history of the developer, they discussed why Avowed. The Action-RPG is now a single-player game but once upon a time, it was aiming for a co-op multiplayer experience.
- The Pillars of Eternity 2 and The Outer Worlds developer talked about why Avowed was once going to be multiplayer. Studio head Feargus Urquhart explains in the video when looking back on the 20 years at Obsidian, that there were choices they felt good about, and some that felt “not so good”.
- Previously they “pushed” Avowed as a multiplayer in order to sell it better to publishers. However, they felt ultimately it wasn’t the right direction, realising they “weren’t focused on the things that we’re best at” says head of development Justin Britch.
- The multiplayer aspect had a major influence on how quests, narratives and more were developed. Taking a different direction took about eight months, creating a “very hectic” transition period.
- Being set in the Pillars of Eternity universe will also have fans of the series’ interest piqued. While a multiplayer version of the POE world would have been interesting, doing what they know best and keeping it an “Obsidian game” will be what players love about a studio’s games. The game while not open world, will be similar to that of The Outer Worlds open areas.
- Avowed will be released in 2024 coming to Xbox Series, PC via Windows 10/11 and Steam. You will also be able to pick it up on Xbox Game Pass/PC Game Pass on day one.

Baldur’s Gate 3
- In a recent interview, Larian Studio shared why a Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC might not happen and it’s down to leveling.
- Baldur’s Gate 3 has had massive success launching its full version this month. With the PS5 version coming next month, you might also be wondering what else is in store for the CRPG. According to a recent interview between Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke and PC Gamer this week, the developer shared why a Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC might not be on the table.
- When asked if the team are working on an expansion for Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC, Vincke explained that the studio isn’t currently working on one. This is due to the fact that the game caps at level 12. However, in Dungeons and Dragons, characters can make their way up to level 20. This would sound like an opportunity to provide further content with an expansion. However, Vincke explained that it’s not that simple for BG3 and would be “very hard” to continue adventuring with high-level characters towards the end-game combat.
- An end game like this would require a different tact in dealing with “antagonists” says Vincke. He goes on to say “Which would make this much more than an expansion in terms of development effort.” This means ultimately changing up the already meticulously planned game, changing it into something completely different for the Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC. This is why a lot of campaigns in DnD are “designed for level 12 or lower characters”.
- There are also complications when it comes to the game’s endings, meaning players could be left waiting “a long time” for them to build a DLC. Never say never though, if Larian does end up with something in the pipeline they will only reveal it when they are “ready to announce it”.
- In the meantime, there’s still plenty to adventure through in the Forgotten Realms. We’ll be putting out more guides and content. Check out our latest Baldur’s Gate 3 Paladin Class Guide. You can drop by our BG3 wiki for all the latest info on classes, weapons, skills, interactive map and more.

Lords of the Fallen
- The upcoming soulslike Lords of the Fallen got new details this week about the system requirements for the game. According to the developer CI Games, its minimum spec requirements are raising the “quality bar” for the studio. Executive producer Saul Gascon in an article with Eurogamer explained that the “minimum specs is a statement” of their “minimum quality bar”.
- They shared that while you could attempt to run the game on a lower-end GPU on PC but they wouldn’t recommend it. The game on minimum spec will run at 720p and 30 FPS which will “play nicely” says the devs. However, if you want to up the graphics experience to 60 FPS you may need to reduce graphic settings. As for consoles, their aim is to have quality mode running at 30 FPS and performance mode at 60 FPS.
- An extended look at Lords of the Fallen was given to the media this week. You can find our hands-on impressions of the game on our channel which is “one of the best looking souls like yet”. Players can expect fluid combat and spin on the souls genre with its dual worlds which are semi-open world. You also don’t have to go it alone as you join other players in co-op.
- Are you excited for Lords of the Fallen’s release in October? Looks like some awesome games are stacking up for the spooky season. Let us know in the comments below! Lords of the Fallen will be coming Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 13th.
