Hit Netflix show The Witcher will be changing up its cast for season 4, changing out lead Henry Cavill.
The Witcher Netflix Series Lead Henry Cavill to be Replaced in Season 4
It’s official, Witcher lead Henry Cavill will leave his post as Geralt come Season 4. The series has yet to air season 3 but stepping into his shoes will be Liam Hemsworth, who is known for such roles as Gale Hawthrone from The Hunger Games.
Cavill is heading back to his role as Superman for DC which means Hemsworth will be picking up the role. In a statement issued by Cavill himself, he shared he would be officially “laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4”. He went on to say “in my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up my mantle of the White Wolf.” Cavill gave his approval for his successor even passing the “torch” with high praise.
Hemsworth shared how he was excited to play the role, “honoured” that he gets to take the reins after Cavill’s performance. The Witcher series had its first debut at the end of 2019, and Cavill had been sporting the role since its first episode. It will be interesting to see how Hemsworth will fill this part, especially following another actor. It seems the takeover seems welcomed by both, and hopefully, fans will be equally excited to see a new Geralt come season 4.
It’s official: The Witcher is returning for Season 4, and Henry Cavill will be handing his swords to Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia after Season 3. Welcome to the Witcher family, @LiamHemsworth!
