Happy weekend from Fextralife! If you’ve been too busy to keep up on the latest in the games we cover or are looking for a refresher we’ve got your back. Let’s take a look at the comings and goings across the Fextralife Wiki Network. Check out the video above and read on for the text!
Nioh
- Koei Tecmo has released a new event scene trailer for Nioh, the upcoming PS4 exclusive from developer Team Ninja.
- The trailer shows a cutscene from the game with main character William Adams encountering the game’s main villain, Edward Kelley. After a bit of trickery, his nemesis reveals himself and the two banter a bit before we get to see a bit of what Kelley can do. He is looking to be quite the powerful foe.
- Also this week, we dug into the lore of Nioh, with a video look at the Battle of Sekigahara, one of the most important battles in Japanese history, which also forms a large core of the game. The video and article are invaluable resources for anyone looking for a clearer picture of what the game’s story is all about.
- Nioh releases next Tuesday, February 7th in NA and the wiki is already getting massive. We’re pumping out everything we know about the game so that it will be ready for you when you start playing. Give it a visit!
Mass Effect Andromeda
- Mass Effect Andromeda is the next installment in BioWare’s celebrated franchise and is taking the story 600 years beyond the events of the original trilogy, all the way to the Andromeda Galaxy as Humans, Turians, Asari and Salarians all launch populated ark spaceships in an attempt to secure a future home for the inhabitants of the Milky Way Galaxy.
- In the first part of a series on what we know about the game, we took a look at everything that makes your character tick, specifically the game’s story backdrop, the characters you’ll meet and the profiles and skills that will flesh out your roleplaying experience. It’s quite the in depth look at the this part of the game’s development and is worth a read to get an idea of what to expect when the game releases this March.

Final Fantasy XV
- Square Enix has dated and detailed some of the upcoming DLC for Final Fantasy XVÂ this week.
- The Booster Pack is coming February 21st and one of the items is a suit that makes you invincible for 30 minutes and also boosts your fishing skills. After use, it cannot be used again for 24 hours.
- Episode Gladiolus is coming March 28th, and is an original episode that unfolds from the perspective of Gladio, who was not playable in the main story of Final Fantasy XV.
- Episode Prompto was also dated for June 2017 but no details were shared on its contents. No prices were given for the DLCs if purchased separately but they are all part of the game’s Season Pass.
- Square Enix has confirmed the update for Final Fantasy XV’s thirteenth chapter will be available from March 28.
- Square Enix has also confirmed an update for February 21 that includes a number of new features and content. It will introduce PS4 Pro support to allow the game to run at 60 frames per second, add limited time quests, raise the level cap to 120, increase the amount of photos you can take, and let you listen to music while riding Chocobos.
- Later in the week, speaking to Famitsu, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, says he wants to bring the game to PC at some point. He had the following to say, “I’d like to release the game on PC as a technical attempt. I want to show PC users Final Fantasy XV running on high-end machines…playing with PC-exclusive features like making your own quests and enjoying the world using things like mods.”
- Mods on PC would open up a whole new world for the series. In the same interview, he also shot down rumors that the game was going to see some large area expansions, instead attributing leaked images to glitches that accessed areas the train route was using.

Elder Scrolls Online
- Zenimax Online has revealed that the next expansion for the Elder Scrolls Online is called Morrowind. It is releasing June 6th, 2017 for every platform
- Morrowind will be the largest zone in the Elder Scrolls Online, featuring Vvardenfell, recreated directly from the Elder Scrolls III. The content is a chapter release, larger than a normal DLC pack and designed for new and existing players. The full base game is included in Morrowind.
- The expansion will feature a new tutorial, story and starter zone set 700 years before the events of Elder Scrolls III. You will aid demi-god Vivec & ultimately save Tamriel from a new Daedric threat.
- In all it will deliver 30+ hours of gameplay content
- Coming with it is a new class: the Warden. Focused around nature, it has 3 skill lines, ice, nature and animal companions.
- A 4v4v4 Battlegrounds is coming for PvP. At least 3 maps, and 3 game types at launch.
- A new 12-player Trial, the Halls of Fabrication is also included.
- There are a few different versions of the expansion that you can pick up. Check out the Morrowind page on the wiki for more!
- Talk about nostalgia! The first Morrowind game is near and dear to many fans of the Elder Scrolls series so this should come as some big news!
Horizon Zero Dawn
- Sony has released a hands on preview of Horizon Zero Dawn from Guerrilla Games, that goes more in depth into what players can expect from the game especially as it relates to the questing and game’s open world.
- The world is a massive multi-region map with several vibrant areas.
- Campfires are unlocked as you discover them and then serve as save points and fast travel points.
- The game features a stealth mechanic similar to the Elder Scrolls series based on a closed eye-open eye system. Sound waves will radiate when you make noise, such as walking on rocky paths. Heading through long grass and staying crouched are the ideal way to sneak.
- The in game map is a 3D topographical map that allows you to see elevations and the lay of the land much better. The world features a day/night cycle and weather system that affects gameplay. For example heavy rain can reduce line of sight and render fire strategies irrelevant.
- The game will feature a photo mode that allows you to pan the camera and play with a variety of editing options. You can then share the images you capture.
- The more we hear and see from this game, the more we like. Horizon releases later this month, and we can’t wait to get our mechanical monster hunting on.

Fallout 4
- Bethesda has announced that Fallout 4 will be receiving a new update next week that will bring PS4 Pro support to the apocalyptic open world RPG. The update will also bring new features to Mod content for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
-
- Native 1440p resolution
- Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
- Enhanced Godray effects
- Next week, Bethesda is also rolling out a release of the game’s High-Resolution texture pack as a free download to the PC players. To use the High-Resolution texture pack, you’ll need 58 GB of space available and make sure your system can handle the recommended specs.
- The new texture pack will substantially improve the visual look of the Boston wasteland but if you need to return to the original textures, you can disable them within the game’s launcher menu.

Divinity Original Sin 2
- Larian Studios has released a new developer update for Divinity Original Sin 2Â that introduces new features for early access and lays out the roadmap for the game’s release.
- AI 2.0 is included in the new early access patch and is the game’s new system that teaches the NPCs how to better react to you in order to improve the challenge you face when square off against them in combat.
- In short, the new AI is designed to be much less predictable and a lot more reactive to the environment and what’s going on, in some surprising ways such as combining abilities in unexpected but powerful ways.
- .The new patch also includes some new PvP arenas, some changes to combat and gameplay and a whole host of general bugs and fixes.
- As they progress towards the full release of the game, Larian outlined some of the features that early access players will be seeing coming up:
- Fun stuff. Divinity Original Sin 2 is set to release sometime this year on PC, with consoles possibly seeing a release as well.

Conan Exiles
- Funcom’s Survival/RPG sandbox Conan Exiles is now available for PC early access.
- The trailer gives a broad look at what the game has to offer, with a tour of the enemies, locations, building and crafting you will be spending your time in. We also get a look at the brutal combat and the gods you can summon to your aid in conquest. Repetitive zombie survival this is not.
- The standard edition of the game will cost 29.99 USD  right  now while the Barbarian Edition will set you back 59.99 and comes with a variety of loot.
- A Conan Exiles preview for the Xbox One is due to release this spring, no word on the support for PS4.
