The Outer Worlds for Switch Release This June

After a postponement of its original release window, The Outer Worlds has been announced to be coming to Nintendo Switch this June.

The Outer Worlds for Switch Release This June

Earlier this year in February, publisher Private Division announced that the Nintendo Switch version of The Outer Worlds would be delayed due to the Coronavirus situation, which has affected many in the gaming industry, including the Virtuos team who are responsible for the port.

This caused a delay with the original release date being March 6th. But now they have announced that the Switch version will be launching on June 5th and will be priced at $59.99 for both physical and digital versions.

There are also new details about the physical edition of the game:

The retail version The Outer Worlds comes on a physical cartridge, and it will be accompanied by a day one patch that could be up to 6 GB.

That’s quite a big update on day one, but it will provide a lot of enhancements such as hi-res textures and fixes according to the official Obsidian website:

This patch will optimize gameplay, provide additional hi-res textures, and include other fixes to provide the employees of Halcyon with the best gameplay experience. Please ensure you have planned accordingly and have available space necessary for the patch.

As for DLC, Obsidian have yet to give any news on an update on this, previously stating it would be coming in 2020, but on Twitter they said they will reveal the news when it’s ready:
