Geoff Keighley certainly has his hands full with Gamescom happening later today, but it doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about The Game Awards. The next event will be happening on December 8th confirmed by the producer and host himself. This year though a new category will be added to the list in the form of Best Adaptation.

According to the tweet Best Adaptation will refer “shows, movies, books, podcasts, comics + more that authentically adapt the source material.” This is quite a wide category as this means games that have been adapted into any of these forms, meaning TV series, animations and more.

As per usual you’ll be able to vote for your favourite games in a number of categories including Game of the Year. But will it really be much of a contest this year? With Elden Ring now surpassing 16.6 million units sold, what other contenders can surpass? God of War Ragnarok is still slated for November, so this could be an option. What will be your GOTY?
