Zenimax Online Studios has announced the release of Orsinium, the second major DLC for their fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. It is available now on the ESOTU PTS (Public Test Server) today and launches on PC/Mac on November 2nd, Xbox One on November 17th, and PlayStation 4 on November 18th. The DLC is included no cost to those with an ESO Plus membership, or is available for 3,000 crowns in the Crown Store.
In Orsinium, players will be able to visit the ancestral home of the Orc race to help restore a kingdom in ruins:
Orsinium, the once-great capital city of the Orcs, has long lain abandoned and in ruin. King Kurog, reigning monarch of the Orcs, has sent invitations far and wide to enterprising adventurers. Join him in rebuilding the city and returning it to its former glory. Your efforts and actions while in Orsinium and the mountains of Wrothgar have a direct impact on the reconstruction effort—the city will visibly transform.
The largest ESOTU DLC game pack to date, Orsinium takes you to the mountains of Wrothgar, and to the Orc capital itself, to unravel plots and counter-plots, and encounter all-new enemies and allies. My holiday vacation starts this Friday so it’s back to Tamriel then. I did pop in just to buy the polar bears. I’m still hoping for more holiday themed mounts/pets, like my tweeted suggestion, Rifton Reindeers. With lighted nose, of course!
Btw, the PSN store has a sale on Crowns.
I’ve enjoyed the DLC so far. I’m nearly done with it. The public dungeons are enormous, the materials dropping to your crafting level is really handy, the area is gorgeous, the new sets are fantastic. About the only thing I haven’t done yet is Maelstrom Arena (to completion anyway).

So, how did the DLC pan out? Was it any good?
I hadn’t played any ESO for a while, with Fallout 4 taking up loads of time. But I popped back in over the weekend and had some great sessions in dungeons and PvP with a random group.
Hi, Cas. Ok, I’ll give it a looksee, but I’m falling out of love with TESO and only go in when it’s time to research a clothing trait. I want to be Savior of Nirn but I can’t find any of the Imperial dolmens, even after riding my ice horse halfway across the map, running from all you Aldmeri murderers.
Yes, other scarecrow, craglorn. I can’t remember area names when I’m away from home. I’m a caster, as I always am in every possible game, and even with 3 summons the wasps almost kill me, after killing my summons. I went into first quest dungeon, something about finding something, looked at the gank squads and backed out. So disheartening.

I assume you’re talking about the wasps in Craglorn? Yeah, for some reason they seem to be ridiculously overpowered compared to what you would think. I avoid them when I’m solo as it’s borderline suicide. The other enemies in the area, however, are much more manageable so long as you have a way of taking down groups of enemies by yourself (I’m a Nightblade so I just use Reaper’s Mark and Assassin’s Blade to heal when I kill enemies). Heck, I’ve been soloing the group delves by myself.

Orsinium is mostly solo content. The Maelstrom Arena is a tiered challenge for solo players and the Wrothgar reminds me of Helms Deep mixed with Moria.

I reserve judgment. I only play solo so now that I’ve completed Cadwell’s Gold (which should have gotten me a gold trophy instead of nearly bupkiss), there’s little to my interest anymore. Going to the multiplayer areas is suicide. Even as VR 12, the swarms of VR 11 wasps, which rightly should be easy, are still overwhelming. I was able to ride all the way across the Imperial City area from my faction home base without being ganked but once I got into the sewers and above, the enemies were all VR 16. Geesh.
I’m thinking of revoking my subscription now. It was great fun until the end of Cadwell’s Gold.
I’m looking forward to this, it sounds like the kind of content I like.
It is really interesting that since you can access the area at any level, it gives you the option to gather materials for your crafting seemlessly
Pretty excited for this. I like the idea of Orsinium. It’s honestly something that’s been missing in the Elder Scrolls for a long time.
