The Elder Scrolls Legends has previewed some changes in an upcoming patch to the card game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. Developer Dire Wolf Digital has been closely watching the meta game unfold (see Cas wiping people with his uber decks) and is taking advantage of the digital platform to make needed changes. Here’s a preview of what the patch will tweak.
Changes to the Arena
They’ve noticed that Intelligence and Agility classes (see the Blue Marshal Deck we built) have the highest win rates, and Strength classes the lowest so they’re making some revisions to card rarity to balance the draw.
- Intimidate, Fiery Imp, Evermore Steward, Shrieking Harpy, Blacksap Protector will change from Common to Rare
- Valenwood Huntsman, Fortress Watchman, Niben Bay Cutthroat, Farsight Nereid, Voracious Spriggan will go from Rare to Common
- Shocking Wamasu is also getting a change in it’s Arena version and will now deal 4 damage to a creature on summon rather than to the player. The goal is to alleviate some of its excessive game-ending power.

Changes to Constructed
The constructed format is getting off a little easier with just a single card change.
- Mantikora is being tweaked to only destroy a creature in its own lane on summon. The goal here is to mitigate some of its overwhelming effectiveness and give an opponent anticipating it a chance to be proactive. According to the developer, as is the card is not easily accounted for even when expected. With this tweak players can spread their cards out accordingly.

We’ll be sure to bring the full bug fix notes on the wiki when the patch releases. We’ve been streaming the game this week and have been enjoying it. Check out last night’s round of battles:
