The Callisto Protocol has been updated for Sony’s new console with a patch that pushes resolution to unparalleled levels.

Through its official X account and other social media, The Callisto Protocol, developed by Striking Distance Studios, announced its update for the PS5 Pro.

This update is now available and introduces two exclusive modes for the newly launched console: Performance and Quality, each with enhancements surpassing those of the original PS5 version.

In the PS5 Pro Performance Mode, The Callisto Protocol offers 4K resolution, 60 frames per second, and full ray tracing support.

This achievement is a technical marvel that many current games fail to deliver, highlighting the studio’s mastery of the new hardware.

A Contrast to Current Issues in PS5 Pro Titles

The real surprise comes with the Quality Mode, which drops the frame rate to 30 fps, but for good reason: an impressive 8K resolution, also with ray tracing.

This level of quality was previously only expected in PS5 Pro titles like Gran Turismo 7 and No Man’s Sky, but now The Callisto Protocol joins this exclusive club.

This achievement is even more remarkable given the survival horror’s original version already showcased a stunning visual presentation.

In the update’s launch video, The Callisto Protocol proudly highlights both modes, with results that look highly promising.

The advancements in The Callisto Protocol stand in stark contrast to the challenges faced by other PS5 Pro games like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Silent Hill 2.

Graphic issues in these games have been flagged by Digital Foundry, prompting Electronic Arts and Bloober Team to work on resolving them.
