Developed by Nippon Ichi Software, and to be published by NIS America in the West, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows is the survival-horror adventure sequel to 2016’s Yomawari: Night Alone. A new trailer for the upcoming game has just been released.
Yomawari: Midnight Shadows – Psst!
Yomawari: Midnight Shadows plays out like an oldschool top-down isometric game, akin to the Corpse Party survival-horror series.
Players will take on the role of two young girls and explore an ominous night town. The story will shift between the perspectives of each girl as the game progresses.
A summer night out with your best friend to watch the fireworks leaves you alone and scared in the dark. Pick up your flashlight and take on the views of two protagonists, Yui and Haru.
The two girls have been separated by something seemingly sinister, and it is up to both of them to find each other in the night and make their way home.
Along the journey, spirits, ghouls, and strange monstrosities will try to eat both of them whole.
So find each other before it’s too late, because the dark is no place to be alone…
The game encourages players to explore the dark town. They will come across obstacles in their paths, which they can interact with. There are also items, such as charms that can be equipped which affects the players stats.
