Stranger of Paradise DLC ‘Different Future’ Gets Launch Trailer and New Details

The third instalment of the season pass content for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is releasing on January 27th. The downloadable content ‘Different Future’ is the last part of the post-launch content that will close out Jack Garland and his companion’s adventure. A new launch trailer has been released showing off the foe Lufenian who is wreaking havoc messing up the dimensions. Her aim is to restore the world to its former order and “beauty”. In order to do so, she summons weapons from other worlds, bending dimensions in order to destroy Jack and the world itself.

The power of Omega in the palm of her hand.

The weapon of choice is Omega, a weapon that has the power to destroy even gods. It has a homing mechanic which will hunt down Jack. With moves such as the Wave Cannon that emits powerful beams and Delta Attacks that will petrify its target in place.

But it won’t be only Lufenian who has all the fun. More enemies will join in this DLC including the Emperor who is following the Moogle. While his intentions don’t seem to line up with Lufenian he doesn’t seem to be keen on joining forces with Jack either.

New DLC Means New Jobs

New jobs await players in Different Future including Musketeer, Hunter and Gambler. Musketeer can use a “Stun Bullet” to stop enemies from performing unblockable attacks. While the Hunter can use “Analyze” which will build a counter each time you attack. Once stacked enough, it will make piercing enemy’s resistance much more easily and strike their weakest point. Lastly, the Gambler sounds the most interesting out of the bunch. This job performs the action “Roulette”, taking a spin of the wheel and using two abilities at random. This could be a fun way to tackle enemies with some RNG and pure chaos (yes I said it).

The Gambler job picks two abilities at random to attack.

New Blacksmith Features

The DLC also brings new features for Synthesis. Imitation mats are materials that can be used by the blacksmith as a substitute for other mats. You can upgrade equipment or even create new ones by synthesising items.

Fabrication is another feature which seems to use Lufenian technology. This means being able to create replicas of equipment using imitation materials and blacksmith materials. There is also the possibility to create replicate chaos effects.

New Synthesis and Fabricate features are added to make use of Imitation materials.

You can check out the trailer below which will be the final part to chaos:

In case you missed it, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin follows the story of Jack which is set in the same universe as Final Fantasy 1. The Action-RPG follows Jack and his company, the Warriors of Light who will take on the four fiends of chaos. The game also received post-launch content with DLC Trials of the Dragon King and Wanderer of the Rift. Different Future is the final chapter which hopefully ends it with a bang.
