This is an action game originally released on the first PlayStation and Dreamcast in 2000, and this new version will include some updates.
The Return of a Star Wars Classic
Aspyr continues to delight us by bringing back all kinds of classic games with re-releases for current consoles, something Star Wars fans know well.
Now, the good news continues with the announcement that on January 23rd, we will be able to enjoy Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam.
Priced at $19.99, it will allow us to relive an action-platformer classic originally launched on the first PlayStation in 2000, and later on Dreamcast. Many of us hold fond memories of it despite its imperfections.
In the game, players must complete a series of linear levels, controlling various Jedi such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Qui-Gon Jinn, or Mace Windu, while battling numerous enemies and overcoming different platforming sections.
This new version for current platforms brings all the original content, includes additional minigames, and has all secret characters unlocked from the start. Plus, it adds more playable characters and allows you to switch between a classic control scheme and a modern, updated one.
The controls were one of the most criticized aspects of the original, as their lack of precision made the platforming sections quite frustrating.
It also includes all the extra content from the Dreamcast version, and of course, the beloved local two-player co-op mode returns, one of its most fondly remembered features
