Siegfried Joins Soulcalibur 6

Siegfried Joins Soulcalibur 6

Bandai Namco has revealed another character to the Soulcalibur VI lineup making it the tenth to join the list that are announced for the game. The newest reveal trailer reintroduces Siegfried and his mighty sword to players once again. Siegfried, a strong reliable staple of the Soulcalibur franchise, has appeared in every game in the series.

Siegfried Returns in Soulcalibur VI

Siegfried’s long locks have gotten even longer but his armor and weapon remain the same, his towering greatsword reminds me of Dark Souls 2‘s Crypt Blacksword. Siegfried is now a part of the ten characters announced which includes Witcher 3‘s Geralt, the newest member Grøh Ivy, as well as familiar faces Zasalamel, Mitsurugi, Sophitia, Kilik, Nightmare and Xianghua.

Bandai Namco has shared with us a brief backstory for Siegfried:

After losing to Kilik and his comrades in the form of Nightmare, Siegfried awoke in an unfamiliar place and he is now unable to free himself from the unforgiving memories of his time spent as the cursed sword’s puppet. The memory of having killed his own father is haunting him. His true nightmare has only just begun…Full of regrets, he is looking for redemption and he desperately wants to free himself from the cursed sword’s grasp!

Soulcalibur VI Reveal Trailer

Despite not as agile as other characters Namco has showed off in the past, I am liking so far what I’ve seen from the brief snippet of his combos they’ve shared in the reveal video below:

We still have no confirmed launch date of Soulcalibur VI but we know it will be out sometime in 2018 for PC. Playstation 4, and Xbox One. I personally expect a fall release for this title but perhaps we will hear some more news during E3.
