Square Enix just announced a remake of the classic: Seiken Densetsu 2, but known in the west as, Secret of Mana. Above, you can watch the announcement trailer for the western version.
In Japan the remake will be titled: Seiken Densetsu 2: Secret of Mana, and simply Secret of Mana in the west, and will launch worldwide on February 15th, 2018 for the PS4, PS Vita and PC via Steam.
Secret of Mana Making a Return!
The press release announcement mentions that the game will receive “upgraded gameplay” for modern platforms, with the visuals having been completely remade in 3D and a newly-arranged musical score.
Secret of Mana, originally released by Square in 1993 (a year after in the PAL region), for the SNES. Directed by Koichi Ishii and produced and written by Hiromichi Tanaka, it featured couch-co-op with up to three players.
There are also pre-order bonuses. Those who pre-order on the PlayStation Store will receive the follwing bonuses:
- “Moogle Suit” for Randi, Primm and Popoi.
- “Tiger Two-Piece” for Primm.
- “Tiger Suit” for Randi and Popoi.
- Three PSN Avatars.
On PC, for those who pre-purchase the game, or purchase the Day 1 Edition within one week of the launch on Steam will receive the same costumes and a downloadable wallpaper.

This was one of my favorite games back in the SNES days. Very happy to see a remake, less happy that I have wait 7 months
