Salt and Sacrifice Patch 2.0 Adds New Zone, PVP Arena, Bosses and More

Update 2.0 for Salt and Sacrifice is a big one, with The Traitor’s Tomb adding a whole new range of content as well as fixes in a free update. There’s a whole new zone to explore, more formidable bosses to best, new NPCs, monsters, a new PVP arena, PVE boss gauntlet, updates to weapon buffs as well as a new beacon type. The new beacon type has been added to all zones that allow fast travelling within that zone.

This is quite the update and the great news it’s free for everyone. This coincides with the launch of the indie sequel on both Switch and Steam. There are also a bunch of fixes/improvements to including larger windows for skill trees, plunge attack now longer completely draining stamina with scythe weapons and Token are now guranteed from fated hunts.

You can check out the full list of changes below:

  • Skill tree window improvements โ€“ larger window and colors.
  • Buy/Sell count wraps to easily go from 1 to max.
  • Preventing camera zooming on remote players during some sequences.
  • Rings and amulet items properly show if theyโ€™ve been crafted before.
  • Plunge attack no longer completely drains stamina with scythe weapons.
  • Fixed displaying some negative values in the UI.
  • Mundane weapons will generate rage for offhand weapons.
  • Tokens from fated hunts are guaranteed.
  • Made a particularly hard jump in the swamp a bit easier.
  • Dying from damage over time on a ladder is handled better.
  • Added a hazeburnt commoner in Nowhere for off-line bestiary unlock.
  • Fixed infinite โ€œObliteratedโ€ screen in some coop instances.
  • Fixed some weapon swapping causing characters to lock up.
  • Additional fixes.

Salt for Everyone

The free update is already live and coincides with Salt and Sacrifice’s Switch and Steam release. Previously the game was available on only PS5, P4 and PC via the Epic Games Store, but it’s now available on new platforms. Previously it was announced it would be heading to the handheld console, but it’s also received full support for the Steam deck as well as multiplayer crossplay. This means there are even more ways to get your daily dose of salt, dying to the many unforgiving enemies and bosses in Salt and Sacrifice.

In case you missed it, the sequel Salt and Sacrifice was released in May last year. New in the sequel are Mage Hunts, multi-phase pursuits which extend throughout regions of the map youโ€™ve already explored, resulting in majorย bossย battles.ย Opt-in mechanics for PvP let players create a Marked Inquisitor appearance, class and past crime, fleshing out the experience.ย Joining various factions for multiplayer combat and online interactions.

Characters are fully customisable with a unique feature called Ancestry that not only determines your overall looks, but your choice of Crime which grants a starting gift, and a variety of starter Classes that determine your initial Equipment. Classes include AssassinClericFighterDuelistHighbladePaladinRanger and Sage. Salt and Sacrifice will provide the customisation that youโ€™d expect from a Salt game and then some.
