Over the past week, developer Team Ninja made headlines with their big surprise, announcing that their highly praised samurai-souls action-RPG: Nioh, will be making its way to the PC platform. It will be available digitally through Steam, as the previously revealed, Nioh: Complete Edition, which contains the base game and all three of the previously released DLC including: “Dragon of the North“, “Defiant Honor“, and the latest “Bloodshed’s End“. The PC version will have two of the three Visual Modes found on the PlayStation 4. There’s “Action Mode”, which keeps Nioh at a stable frame-rate of 60fps, and a cinematic “Movie Mode” that supports resolutions up to 4K, but at a cost of performance.
Team Ninja’s Game Director ‘Fumihiko Yasuda’ made a statement saying that they were well aware of the fervent requests among PC gamers to have Nioh on their platform.
“I am thrilled to announce that this masocore game will finally be available for our die-hard PC fans in Nioh: Complete Edition! I hope you all enjoy the unforgettable drama and deeply challenging Yokai battles this action-packed experience has to offer.”
The celebrate the upcoming release of Nioh: Complete Edition, a new piece of head armor called the Dharmachakra Kabuto Helmet will be included in the game, also offered in the PC version. Horizon Zero Dawn
Good things come to those who wait, as yet another “Complete Edition” was announced this past week. This time, it’s Guerrilla Games critically-acclaimed open world title, Horizon Zero Dawn. Dubbed Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition, the upcoming release is set to launch on December 5th, 2017 with an MSRP of $49.99 USD. It will include the base game, along with all “Digital Deluxe Content” from the original launch, as well as the upcoming “The Frozen Wilds“ DLC , that is coming out a month prior on November 7th. The annual “Return To Lordran” event for the original brutal action-RPG, Dark Souls from FromSoftware, officially began last wednesday, on October 4th. Players worldwide have once again repopulated the harsh world of Dark Souls with summon signs, red phantoms and treacherous orange messages. It is being hosted by the Dark Souls community over on Reddit, and this year marks the second time this month-long event is being held. It is filled with community driven activities, such as be PvP and jolly co-operation, as well as speedruns and much more. The “Return To Lordran” event will continue up until October 24th. In other Dark Souls happenings, a speedrunner by the name, NaxHPL just set the world record for not only beating the Dark Souls in under four hours, but also obtaining every single achievement available in the game! This translates to tons of farming for the various titante ores, and Boss Souls in order to craft every weapon type, in addition to finding all of the embers required for making those upgrades. To acquiring every single miracle and magic spell, as well as joining every covenant and gaining ranks to obtain their exclusive items, and much more. As with all speedruns, NaxHPL made heavy use of skips and glitches. Which in of itself requires an enormous amount of concentration and precision to be able to pull off a successful run. The previous world record in this category was 4:02:01, but NaxHPL managed to shear off a few minutes, bringing it down to 3:57:29.
Divinity: Original Sin 2
In other news, the Divinity: Original Sin 2 Wiki continues to grow and expand averaging nearly 5000 users online at any given time, which by comparison, is nearly double the subreddit for the game. Since the launch of the game the wiki has received thousands of edits and 10s of thousands of comments, making it the most used source of information about Divinity: Original Sin 2 around the internet. This past week we’ve been focusing on putting together some guide articles and videos for various Builds in Divinity: Original Sin 2, which is quite the popular topic. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen
Capcom’s remaster of their critically-acclaimed cult classic action-RPG, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is now available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen Remastered contains all previously released content including the Bitterblack Isle expansion. It also features improvements over the original’s graphics and gameplay performance and PlayStation 4 owners can grab a special Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen “Dynamic Theme” made by Truant Pixel, complete with its own soundtrack.
In Dragon’s Dogma, Players will take on the role of an Arisen, whose choices will shape the world. They form a party Pawns from The Rift, who will accompany them throughout their perilous adventure. They can choose from 9 different Vocations/Classes, which are split into 3 categories: The Fighter, The Strider and The Mage vocations. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The highly-acclaimed The Witcher franchise from studio CD Projekt has a six part documentary mini-series currently underway, exploring the now legendary trilogy in a different light. The documentary is produced by a crowdfunded Patreon campaign, and it is made by YouTube channel, NoClip. The channel is spearheaded by popular games journalist, ‘Danny O’Dwyer’, whose work is known for illustrating the video games industry in different angles, unraveling new information many of us may not have known. He has also made documentaries on other titles such as Final Fantasy XIV, DOOM and Rocket League among others.
In the first episode of the 6 part mini-series, O’Dwyer, its host, travels to Warsaw, in Poland. Conducting an interview with the co-founder of CD Projekt Red, Marcin Iwiński who talks about his early life in socialist Poland, and the founding of CD Projekt itself. Which has surprising roots in its conception. There are currently 3 episode out so far, and you can check out the full schedule at the blog.
More on The Witcher, PlayStaion 4 Pro owners can now take advantage of the extra processing power of their system. As promised the patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is now available for download, and as the name suggests, this upgrade increases the resolution of an already beautiful game all the way up to 4K. In addition, boosts to the gameplay performance have also been introduced in the patch. You can read CD Projekt’s patch notes in our article.
Square Enix’s JRPG, Final Fantasy XV recently received new story content, adding a new event to Chapter 12 in the game. During an Active Time Report live-stream at the Tokyo Game Show 2017, Director Hajime Tabata revealed that they would continue to make new content for Final Fantasy XV through 2018 in order to patch up plot holes in the game’s story. With this recent update, Tabata hopes to bridge the events between the upcoming online-multiplayer expansion, Comrades and Final Fantasy XV‘s ending, in addition to fulfilling fans request for a more enriching story-line.

The latest update is now available for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, and as Square Enix puts it, this new addition will explain the events that led to the War of the Astrals. You can read more of Tabata’s statements in the article.
The Elder Scrolls Online
Announced on the games’ official Twitter account, the The Elder Scrolls Online will receive Xbox One X support once the anticipated Update 16 launches. Its been reported that the Xbox One X will run the game at 4K resolution, at a framerate of 30fps, along with additional “graphic enhancements”. The upcoming Update 16 will include the latest DLC called: Clockwork City, the mechanical wonderland of Sotha Sil and will have the much touted Transmutation feature, where players would be able to modify the Traits of their equipment. Fallout 4 VR
If you’re thinking of getting into the VR game, now might be a good time. As of now, everyone who purchases the HTC Vive VR Headset will receive a free download code for Bethesda’s highly-praised post-apocalyptic RPG, Fallout 4 VR. Fallout 4 VR is essentially Fallout 4, completely rebuilt with some modifications made to the title’s combat and building gameplay. On its own it retails for $59.99 USD.
If you’d like a bit more incentive, the HTC Vive received a $200 price drop back in August of this year, and now retails for $599 USD. Included in the package are “HTC Vive VR Headset“ itself, complementary “Facial Padding“, a pair of “Wireless Controllers“, a pair of motion tracking “Base Stations“, and finally a set of “Cables & Chargers“.
