Rise of the Ronin, one of the best PS5 exclusives, will be compatible with PSSR enhancements, the technology that the PlayStation 5 Pro incorporates, just like another major Sony hit.

Rise of the Ronin For PS5 Pro

The samurai genre on PlayStation doesn’t live solely through Ghost of Tsushima and its future sequel, Ghost of Yotei. Another great game in this theme is Rise of the Ronin, which was one of the most notable releases in the first quarter of 2024.

Rise of the Ronin was overshadowed in the media by Helldivers 2 and even Stellar Blade, but its quality is unquestionable. It’s the latest game from Team Ninja, creators of titles such as Nioh, Ninja Gaiden (the reboots), and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

As months have passed, the game has been revealed to be the best-selling title in Koei Tecmo’s history (although we don’t have figures), and it was clear Sony had plans to expand it.

Team Ninja has confirmed on its social media that, as many expected, Rise of the Ronin will be one of the launch games compatible with the PS5 Pro.

Koei Tecmo’s game will be part of the 50-60 PlayStation 5 titles optimized for PSSR technology, which ensures improved resolution and performance on the PS5 Pro.

Reliving The Story of the Ronin on PS5 Pro

On Twitter/X, Team Ninja confirmed that Rise of the Ronin will be compatible with PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology, meaning it will perform better (in terms of resolution and performance) than on the standard PS5 model.

We don’t know the details yet, but Rise of the Ronin will improve its technical aspects on PlayStation 5 Pro, further expanding the list of compatible launch exclusives.

Since Team Ninja’s game is already frenetic at many points, it might need a visual upgrade (upscaled to dynamic 4K) for performance mode, or possibly ray tracing effects.

However, players have had mixed feelings about the news. Some are asking Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo to release a PC port of Rise of the Ronin. It will happen sooner or later, but for now, there’s no news on that.

It has also been confirmed that Helldivers 2, Arrowhead’s successful shooter, will receive significant upgrades with the release of the PS5 Pro. This was stated by the community director on Discord.

They didn’t specify the differences between the PS5/PS5 Slim version and the PS5 Pro version, but we now know that Helldivers II will receive upgrades for Sony’s new hardware.

Rise of the Ronin, one of the best samurai games, is available exclusively for PlayStation 5. Starting November 7, the game will be updated with a patch to improve its performance on the PS5 Pro.
