Resident Evil Remake Release Date Announced

In the Sony Playstation press conference at E3 2018 we got a look at the Resident Evil 2 remake which will be coming to Playstation 4 early next year in January 25th, 2019.

The remake (not to be confused with a remastered version) will feature the suburb of Raccoon City, a secluded Spencer mansions in the Arklay Mountain suffers a grisly occurrence that quickly changes the urban city into a living nightmare. After 20 years after the original release of Resident Evil 2, we get to return to Raccoon City in this survival horror game.

Resident Evil fans may remember the sequel to the original title making its appearance in 1998 on the first PlayStation. It was one of the first to break into the survival horror genre, introducing horrifying zombies and bio organic weapons. Players got to discover the dangerous mysteries of Spencer Mansion, along with the virus of the viciously infected the Raccoon City populace.

But 20 years later Capcom sets to bring the title into the present with powerful RE Engine that was used to create it’s other title in the franchise, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard which recently joined a new platform on Nintendo Switch via cloud. With this version of the game, some locations may look familiar, but the Raccoon City Police Department has has a few surprises to greet returning veterans and newer players.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake also sets new perspectives as players will now be able to peer over-the-shoulder of main protagonists Leon and Claire. This claustrophobic nightmare will have hearts racing as you anticipate what’s behind every corner. Along with returning familiar faces there will be some news ones adding fresh interactions to the game. Players will be able to follow two separate story-lines with Leon and Claire.
