Re:Legend – A Co-Op Monster Raising RPG With Final Fantasy Composers Launches On Kickstarter

Today Co-op monster-raising RPG Re:Legend launched its Kickstarter campaign, with developer Magnus Games seeking about 51,000 USD  in funding over the next 30 days. Within mere hours was already more than halfway towards its goal. Check out the kickstart launch trailer:

Re:Legend Kickstarter

Re:Legend is an RPG-simulator hybrid with strong monster raising and multiplayer features. Washed ashore on the island of Vokka, you must farm, build and expand your village through a huge variety of activities while collecting and raising monster-like creatures called Magnus. Re:Legend will release on PC and Magnus Games intends on supporting PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch pending stretch goals, which at this point seem very well in reach.

The game’s music is also taking center stage as they’ve managed to nab some impressive composers. Shota Nakama, founder of the Video Game Orchestra is best known for his work on Final Fantasy XVFalk Au Yeong, a veteran whose portfolio includes audio work on film and anime as well as video games. Yoshitaka Suzuki has contributed to several epic franchises like Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy. That’s an impressive pedigree.

re:legend

The game was originally introduced as part of the Square Enix Collective which works like the now defunct Steam Greenlight and puts promising titles up for vote to see if fans would support its development. Re:Legend raked in 99% of the vote, if that’s any indication of the game’s anticipation. Backers of the crowdfund project can get access to a beta and more.

  1. I’m actually going to support this game on the fact their first game (legend of lumina) got killed because their original backer pulled out and took all the assets with them effectively forcing them to start a new. I really hope these guys get there game out there this time.

  2. As much as I like Pokemon and Shin Megami Tensei, it’s always nice to see someone try something new with the monster training concept.

Now if only someone would make such a game targeting my own age group…
