PS Plus Premium Adds Baldur’s Gate 3 and LOTR Gollum to Free Trials
Good news for PS Premium subscribers as the tier has just gained a couple of new free trials including the CRPG Baldur’s Gate 3. Now PS players can experience the Forgotten Realms for a whole two hours as part of their sub. Another game added is the stealth adventure game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which can be trialled for one hour.
These new games join a long list of current PlayStation Plus Premium free trials including Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion and the martial arts combat game Sifu. Both BG3 and Gollum were released this year but have had quite different receptions. BG3 has had stellar reviews (including our own you can check it out here) and has been nominated for a number of awards this year.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum hasn’t had quite the same glowing remarks. It follows the tortured character Gollum in a stealth/adventure setting. But you can try it for yourself for an hour to see what you make of it. The LOTR IP still has a few games currently in development so this won’t be the last fellowship you’ll see.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has had a lot of news as of late, with details about the upcoming physical deluxe edition releasing in early 2024. This one comes with a lot of goodies to display proudly on your shelf. While less grander than the limited collector’s edition, it will still be worthy of any BG3 fan’s collection. There’s also a rumour a new even harder difficulty mode could be coming to the game, although nothing solid on that just yet.
