A Planet of the Apes VR game has been announced

APlanet of the Apes VR game has just been announced. It will be coming to HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and the PlayStation VR.

Planet of the Apes VR game has been revealed

The title of the game is Crisis on the Planet of the Apes. This VR adventure game will tell the story of an ape trying to escape from a heavily guarded scientific facility. It is set in the timeline of the new Planet of the Apes movies – approximately five years into the Simian outbreak. Check out the reveal trailer below.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes is being developed by Imaginati Studios, in partnership with FoxNext VR Studio. Imaginati also developed Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier, the PlayStation 4 cinematic adventure game released last year, so hopefully they can pull it off.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes

In Crisis on the Planet of the Apes, you control an ape trying to escape a high-tech science facility. So it’s a little like the Prison Break game – only good, hopefully.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes is set to be released this year on April 3rd.

its very.. "brave" of them to try releasing a niche game on a niche platform.

Hopefully it’s not just another railroad shooter. Like, uh… well, everything else VR right now. The trailer makes it seem like it could be more open than that, but then again it doesn’t completely exclude the possibility.

Powerful image on the cover art, though. There’s just something primal about an ape running around with a rifle.

Aw, I don’t know, TSMP. So far I’m enjoying PS VR. There’s more than just on-rails shooters but I guess it depends on what kind of games you’re into.

So far, my favourites are Resident Evil 4, Thumper, Moss, Super Hot VR & Farpoint. I’m also enjoying the Elder Scrolls VR & Wayward Skies. And whilst the Batman title was short, it was still cool getting to "be" Batman.

    Maybe I’m just easily pleased.
