Developer Obsidian Entertainment has brought their Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Beta live for their backers to try out.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire – Beta Live!
This Beta is only available to those who backed the $99 tier pledge at Obsidian’s Fig crowdfunding campaign. But, this doesn’t completely leave out the rest of the backers as they can still join in on the fun by purchasing the $20 access add-on.
The Beta will bring players to Tikawara, an archipelago village, along with a party of “stand-in” companions. As voice recording is still in progress for the game’s final companions as well as to avoid any spoilers.
Furthermore, players will get to try out Pillars 2 character creation, its multiclassing and its revamped combat mechanics. You can learn more by checking out Obsidian’s Backer Update 42, down below:
And to mark this milestone, the studio has released a new gameplay trailer to Pillars 2. Which showcases some of the new enemies, locations, ships as well as glimpses of the new lore players can expect in the upcoming CRPG.
Finally, the recently announced Definitive Edition of the original Pillars of Eternity CRPG is now available and includes all previously released DLC as well as other bonuses!
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is planned for a release sometime in 2018.
