Owlcat developer announces new isometric CRPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous Announced by Owlcat Games
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a new title adapted from the legendary tabletop RPG by Paizo, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous won’t be a sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker but will continue to expand upon the core elements of the first title, bringing another epic CRPG adventure.
The next title will include a new mythic progression system set to explore a new Age of Lost Omens, add more classes and further character customisations all stemming from Pathfinder’s rich history. Oleg Shpilchevsky, Head of Owlcat Games studio shares:
We are tremendously excited to announce Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous today. With our new game, we are taking everything that made Kingmaker enjoyable and building on top of it. We laid a solid foundation and are going to push the boundaries of the CRPG genre with our next title. We especially want to thank the Kingmaker community for their support because we would not be making this game if it weren’t for them. When Wrath of the Righteous is ready, we cannot wait to see them answer the call again.
While Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is based on the tabletop game Wrath of the Righteous Path, it will also include brand new characters, storylines and additional elements which will cater to both new and seasoned players.
It tells a tale of major conflict between mortals and demons. Players are immersed in a world under siege from demonic forces. As the invasion rages, so does the outcome of decisions made, a more personal battle between good and evil. Choose to play the role of an immortal lich who can command an undead army and wield spells, a trickster who causes mischief, an angel who can summon celestial beings to join battle, or choose a completely different path.
Creative Director Alexander Mishulin and Lead Writer Alexander Komzolov reprise their roles in Wrath of the Righteous. Chris Avellone will also return to help out with supporting the narrative team at Owlcat.
Character classes that players enjoyed in Pathfinder Kingmaker will return including but also new roles that didn’t make the first game will be added this time. Fan favourite witch and oracle are included in this, Owlcat has said they will be revealing more in the future.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has yet to have a release window announced.
