The last class to be revealed for upcoming Outriders called The Technomancer was unveiled during the Outriders broadcast, previewing some gameplay and more.
Outriders New Class The Technomancer Revealed Plus New Co-op Gameplay
Previously developer People Can Fly revealed 3 of the four classes for the upcoming co-op shooter RPG Outriders which are Trickster, the Pyromancer and Devastator. In the latest broadcast it featured the fourth and final class The Technomancer.
Outriders Class The Technomancer
Technomancer seems to be a rather flexible class that can work alongside the Devastator and Pyromancer classes. They are a long ranged gunman which also possesses the “best healing abilities” out of the four classes.
The class also can “manipulate constructs”, and their main skill of focus uses summoning of devastating weapons. Like its class name suggests, the Technomancer can materialise some interesting weaponised tech such as turrets out of thin air that have different effects, such as Cold or Toxicity. They can also build a barrage called Pain Launcher, a destructive bomb with surface coverage. Using “Tool of Destruction” allows the Technomancer to utilise a Rocket Launcher or Minigun.
The gameplay shows the Technomancer working together with Pyromancer and Devastator, which gives insight into how they synergise in battle.
Outriders Story
Outriders is set in a sci-fi universe of Enoch where humans are striving to save humanity in a last chance stretch by attempting to colonise a new Earth. But with strange occurrences known as “The Anomaly” which grant humans with the power to manipulate elements and physical abilities, making them The Altered. With these new powers they can do amazing but destructive things as they fight the dangerous enemies that inhabit the planet.
Outriders Gameplay
The Anomaly is also the cause for the lack of technology on the planet, it wiped it out basically, leaving out ruin. The broadcast has teased some of the backstory but mostly focuses on the co-op combat this time. The gameplay is a mix of elemental powers with guns, which looks to create some interesting gameplay.
The gameplay didn’t really show any of the more of the interesting locations that were teased in the trailer, it all looked a bit bland by comparison. But hopefully as we get closer to the launch they will show more of the sci-fi fantasy locations teased, which could make for some more interesting fights.
Players can play solo or team up in up to 3 in co-op, using the different classes to bring different elements to their group. From the footage it looks like the classes demonstrate that they work well together.
In the meantime you can check out the screenshots below of a few post-apocalyptic environments.
