Well, I bought and played the Legend of Kay Anniversary edition, and thought it held up very well, aside from the voice acting, which was bad even back then, but I don’t mind it much, and the camera which was bad, but they made a new one which works fine. So, the only problem I had was the camera, which you just need to switch to the new one in the options menu. Why it’s not on by default, I do not know.
I loved this game when it came out, but I don’t think it’s aged well. I would have expected the art style to hide the low polygon count, but it anything it makes it look worse.
Hopefully my view will be an uncommon one, as the only real chance for a genuine, modern sequel is for this remaster to sell very well. However, since I already own a copy for the PS2 and the Wii (the latter of which should have been a lot better due to the interface, but if anything it was words), I’m not really interested in buying a 3rd copy. If I need a version with updated graphics I’d probably try a PS2 emulator first.
I played the hell out of this on my PS2, probably still have it somewhere. It’s really a great game, might get this too, just got nostalgia.
Since I never played this when it first came out, and I hear it’s a great game, and I love 3D platformers with animal characters, I think I’ll be getting this, probably the physical edition for PS4
