Nomura Reveals More Details About Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC

In the latest issue of Famitsu magazine (which was translated by Gematsu), Tetsuya Nomura from Square Enix talked about the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake but also gave some more information on the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC Re:Mind. Readers should note there are some spoilers ahead.

In the latest trailer which was revealed at E3 2019, Riku, Aqua and Roxas are shown as playable characters. The Famitsu reporter asked how these playable characters are going to fight the Organization XIII characters. These fights apparently according to the interview are part of the DLC’s main storyline rather than the “Limit Cut”fights.

“Limit Cut” fights refer to what the Japanese call the Organization XIII Data Battles, which involve more challenging bonus boss fights against each member. This was something added in the Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix version.

KH3 will not be getting a Final Mix version, however Nomura states that Re:Mind DLC will include as many “Limit Cut” bonus battles as the Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, which means 13 or possibly more.

But the DLC won’t be just these additions, it will also include more story content as well as bosses to best the normal way, secret stories to discover and secret bosses.

Oathkeeper Keyblade

From the E3 trailer, Sora was seen with a new form called the Oathkeeper Keyblade. This form will release as part of the free DLC which will release at the same time as the paid Re:Mind DLC.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind DLC has a release window of this Winter, which Nomura has commented that it will release “as soon as possible”. This will be schedule way before the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake which is set for March 3rd 2020.
