Nippon Ichi Software have announced the release of an original IP called Destiny Connect. The RPG is set to release on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch next year in 2019.
Nippon Ichi Software Announces Original RPG Destiny Connect
The title is an original RPG that comes from Nippon Ichi Software. It was announced in the latest issue of Famitsu and will launch next year on February 28th in Japan. Nippon Ichi Software are the same developers behind the Disgaea series.
Destiny Connect is directed by Yoshihiko Yoda and features a narrative written by Syupro-DX’s Jun Yokota. The storyline follows the pleasant town of “Clocknee” but a disaster suddenly strikes causing the residence to stop moving. The main characters Sherry, Pegreo and a robot named Isaac, will need to solve the mysteries that revolve around the event. The events take place during December 31, 1999 in the gear thriving industry town, inspired by the Y2K bug.
The gameplay involes using command-based battles that will trigger when you encounter certain symbols on the map. Players will take control of their party members as they battle it out again enemy actions.
The visual are pretty interesting, providing a unique art-style that combines 3D character design inspired by Super Famicom RPGs from the 90’s, with an almost toy like aesthetic. You can check out some of the screenshots and press images below:
Destiny Connect is set to launch on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch on February 28th 2019 in Japan. No news as of yet whether there will be a international release.
