New DLC Announced

But that’s not all, as there is also an announcement of further DLC for Nioh 2 coming in three waves, yes that’s “three sizeable & badass DLC batches” according to Lee. These will be released over the course of several months and will add further challenges to the game. In addition to new storylines, there will be further yokai bosses added, new Guardian Spirits, new skills, more armor and a new weapon that changes the performance of skills outside of set stances.

If that wasn’t enough, new difficulty levels and end-game content will be added, letting you experience a longer campaign. The first of the DLC packs is called “The Tengu’s Disciple” which will launch on July 30th. To get you revved up for the upcoming content, Team Ninja has also created new wallpapers that feature the new chapter.

As for the context of the new content, an official description can be found below:

A great battle has taken place at Yashima in the late Heian period. As a visitor in Yashima, our protagonist finds a shrine possessing a mysterious whistle called the Sohayamaru. Upon inspection, the whistle shines radiantly as the shadow of Yokai can be seen lurking in the background. It is revealed that whenever wars take place, heroes wielding the Sohayamaru will head into battle in order to restore peace back into this land.

There will also be some more details about “The Tengus Disciple” DLC in the coming months, in the mean time you can check out the new screenshots of the wallpapers for a preview of what’s to come. One of them even features the loveable Scampus.
