As part of an upcoming Famitsu article, Platinum Games has revealed that Action RPGĀ Nier Automata will feature a crossover with fellow Square Enix title Final Fantasy XV. The Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV is making an appearance as a one-handed sword for Nier Automata character YoRHa No.2 Type B (2B).
The Engine BladeĀ will have its own evasive effect. The weapon model comes directly from Final Fantasy XV, and it will display its effects and damage in the same way. In true Nier fashion the blade will feature its own weapon story which are expanded item descriptions similar to those found in Dark Souls. In quite cheeky fashion, they shared the following “preview” of the weapon.
Final Fantasy XV will have its own Nier influenced crossover as well, but no details have been given on just what that will be.
Nier Automata releases for PS4 in Japan on February 23rd and for PS4 and PC in the west sometime early 2017. Thoughts on the crossover and cheeky image? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
