Producer for the hit action-RPG NieR: Automata  Yosuke Saito, has revealed that his team is currently working on a new game.

According to Gematsu,  in a talk with Dengeki PlayStation about what’s next for the studio, the NieR  series producer spoke about how they’re:“making preparations for the setting”  and hopes that we: “will look forward to it.”

Though nothing was explicitly said about a sequel to NieR: Automata,  that last bit definitely implies that they’re working on something good. Furthermore, it was also revealed that they’ve been hiring for someone to fill in a Scenario Planner position within the team. “which you could guess from the fact that we were recruiting a scenario planner”  says Saito.

The interview also brought up NieR: Automata‘s  Director Yoko Taro’s involvement in the next project, with the producer saying: “He is… I would like to believe (laughs). Yoko says he will do anything as long as he receives money for it, but there is no one who doesn’t move for money as much as that man. He only wants to do what he wants to do. So I’ll try my best to explicitly say what he doesn’t want to do to guide him towards what I want to do (laughs).”

In previous interviews at the GameStart 2017 event, the director and producer duo revealed how gung-ho they are for another Nier  game as well as a probability of the next Final Fantasy  game under their care. Also, 2B can be yours, in plushy format!

NieR: Automata  is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.

Apart from making leaps in sales, NieR: Automata  is doing exceedingly well, grabbing an “Award for Excellence” at the Japan Game Awards during TGS 2017 and being nominated for more at the 2017 Golden Joystick Awards.
