New World is Launching a Public Test Realm; Will Preview Void Gauntlet

Amazon Games has announced that New World will be getting public test realm on November 10th.

New World is Launching a Public Test Realm; Will Preview Void Gauntlet

The public test realm for New World will give a chance for players to preview builds for upcoming major updates. One new weapon that will be coming to New World is the Void Gauntlet, which is described as a magical DPS/support hybrid weapon that scales with both Intelligence and Focus, which means it will pair great with the Life Staff and other magical weapons. This weapon falls into the Annihilation tree which features maximising damage at a close range with the Void Blade, a summoned blade dealing corrosive void energy. Then there is the Decay tree which offers healing and debuffs for the Orb of Decay, which fires a dual-phase projectile that can debuff enemies and heal allies. This will make the Void Gauntlet a great match for group combat and will bolster your allies.

There are also a number of changes and additions coming to the game which include a new unified Trading Post, new missions, enemy types, PVP Faction missions, new quests and more. You can also read on below on how to take part in the PTR.

New Missions and Enemy Types

Outlined in the official post is the introduction of new missions to help vary the types of content players will face. There will also be new mobs to encounter such as the Varangian Raiders who hail from the north, who have now landed in the beaches of Fight Light and Monarch’s Bluffs as well as can be found in a fort they’ve captured in Everfall. This new enemy type comes with a few variations, Varangian Hewers, Varangian Scouts, Varangian Knights, and Varangian Archers (level range: 16-20).

There will also be more enemy variation with new enemies such as the Withered Swarmancer, Beetle, the Lost Shaman, Pirate Alligator, Ancient Guardian Pyromancer, and enhanced Corrupted Laborers. This will bring more variation when it comes to the combat you’ll face in the lower-level open-world areas.

New Quests

New quests are also coming to the game which includes enemy quests and new legendary weapon quests. The Legendary Weapon Quest series will be available upon reaching Level 60 and the maximum skill level Void Gauntlet. Players will have to have completed “Magaki’s Strategem” in Shattered Mountain and Legatus Fulvius’s quest series in Reekwater in order to seek out the Antiquarian Abbington in Reekwater.

The main storyline is also going to have a few improvements, with new task types and quest variants. These will include wave events, destructible objects and proximity nodes for tracking.

New PVP faction missions are also underway with three brand new mission types called Control Points, Intercept and War Camp loot. Hopefully this will make the missions a little more interesting with some different objectives to achieve. Poach missions will be removed.

  • Control Points – These missions send you out to capture control of Forts.

  • Intercept – Defeat enemy faction members and collect their tears!

  • War Camp loot – Retrieve hidden plans at the enemy war camp.

How to Access the New World PTR

The New World PTR will be available to anyone who owns the game. The PTR will go live on November 10, at 12 PM PT (7PM UTC) with limitied servers available, one server for US east and one world available for Central Europe to begin with. You will need to download the standalone application available in your Steam library which should be listed right under your New World game once the servers go live.

Players won’t be able to access their current characters/progress in the PTR but instead, Amazon plans to provide play-testers with special accommodations such as instant levels, special gear, etc. for testing purposes.

This will also be a chance to provide feedback from what they have experienced in the PTR, including reporting any bugs or issues found.
