New Stricter Security Guidelines for E3 2018

It looks like E3 2018 this year will be cracking down on security as some stricter policies fall into place. This includes prohibition of certain bags and even cameras, read on for more details.

New Security Guidelines for E3 2018

This year’s E3 will be a little different as they lay out some new rules for convention goers about what types of bags they are allowed bring, as well as some of it’s contents. If you are not part of the media or an exhibitor, backpacks are no longer allowed on the show floor. Those with a Gamer Pass will be allowed to instead carry a bag that fits the dimensions of 12″ x 15″ x 6″ in size.

As it’s normal for E3 goers to receive swag bags from the show floor, these are ok to be used however, once they leave the convention building, they cannot be brought back into the convention. Bags will be searched prior to entry which has not been apart of security protocol in the past, but will be this year along with metal detectors. Bringing a bag that is transparent or see-through will help speed up the bag checking process.

If you don’t have a media badge you will not be allowed to bring in cameras or tripods as these are restricted from the convention. Any food or snacks must be left outside of the show floor, and you must also be able to power on any devices that you carry. Any Cosplay weapon props will be inspected and will need to be approved by the allocated E3 weapons check.
