I know how this sounds, but I’ve always gone with Feeling what is about to happen rather than hearing/seeing. Even when I played Gears of War competitively (not anything national, but a local store I frequented held tournies) I had to have my Ipod plugged in in order to function well.

  2. I could go for another defender covenant in the DLC. I’ve ripped the summoning aspect plenty of times, but I actually love the Watchdog & AF areas. Wish they stayed active even after defeating the bosses.

  3. Honestly was hoping for more of a “nightmare roads” feel from BB where invasions were always turned on and you couldn’t avoid it. An arena seems okay. Though if the only format is 3v3 i’ll probably skip on it. On the other hand we see loads of different phantoms fighting eachother. So maybe instead of it being 3v3 the trailer was showcasing that up to 6 players can be here.

I’m hoping for 2 things out of this. 1) all covenants will get leader boards since they emphasized on picking a side this seems possible. 2) getting covenant rank up items. I’ve personally already ranked all of mine to the 3 on my main build. And it wouldn’t be the best out look since dark moons still wouldn’t be doing what we’d all like. But at least it would make things easier to get for build crafting.

I’ve been ripping the Bandai Namco music selections hard from the get go. None of it has ever been a dis on the actual artists, just that it totally doesn’t fit the game. I still don’t think this song fits, but like I said, it didn’t make me want to “bloodlust” my brain. As for music while playing, I don’t see how anyone does that. I have to hear the environment, especially during Invasion. Audio queues are just as important as visual. Timing your roll when evading a soul spear that is coming from off screen while you’re fighting another, listening for foot steps when you’re being sneaky, stuff like that.

  5. I thought the music was completely tonally off and gross… But I also listen to weird avant garde shit BECAUSE I’m a pretentious a**hole.

You know, everyone’s saying stuff like that on the Youtube Page, but music like that is what I usually listen to while playing anyway:

Humbling River (Puscifer), Blood on my Name (Johnny Cash), if they ever release the entire song this will certainly be put on that playlist.

  7. I’ve been building a Faith user for just this sort of thing. Can’t wait for the 3v3!

It’s not like Pontiff Fight Clubs aren’t going to be a thing even after this comes out, as well. Some people will still prefer 1v1 Dueling.

  8. Ha I shouldn’t have tossed that in there, I was just being cheeky. As Fex said, we’ll have more info for you all soon.

  9. 3 players vs 3 players vs Pontiff Sully with 2 phantom Sullys :mask-averice: Too much for the net code tho…

  10. Definitely. It would be a grand combination of boss rush and arena mode and force players to go make some interesting choices. Especially if it’s a really active boss like Sulyvahn or Nameless King.

That actually would be awesome. Gang up on the boss, or use it as a distraction to pick off other players?

Screw that, I have Vow of Silence.

  12. there is but one thing that is worth taking home from this: 3 vs 3 will apparently be the format in the arena…

this means one major thing: casters WILL be back because while melee is great at dueling, casting is insanely advantageous in a multi-opponent melee since as soon as you can breeze, you can toggle target and unleash a massive blow on one of a member of the other team and make a massive, instantaneous and often decisive difference.

prepare your plate rings friends !

  13. Since we see the battle Royale set in the Lord Of Cinder boss room, I’m hoping other boss rooms will be used for arenas. Sulyvahn’s would be cool, so would Aldrich’s, especially if the elevators are active and the fight can reach the heights. Cursed Greatwood could be another cool spot, oh and Nameless King area post death, not above the clouds, but the ruined area btwn the gates.

  14. I have the same hope for covenant rewards, but I still want Blue Eye Orb dammit. Covenant loot from 3v3 arena battles is nice, but it’s not the same as hunting reds.

  15. It is admittedly nice to get 3v3 confirmation for the arena at least, and it seems like they might be doing the crown system similar to the Battle of Stoicism that marked leaders.

  16. Eh. I guess it’s exactly what I should’ve been expecting, but was this announcement really worth announcing a whole week in advance?

One thing worth noting, aside from the glimpses of new things we haven’t seen before: phantom colors in the arena. There’s the shiny blue darkmoons, red-blue watchdog/faithful, red sunbro, regular sunbro, and purple. Hopefully it means you can get covenant items this way? But if that’s the case, I’d expect everyone would be running around as darkmoon for the roster ranking, unless all the covenants get a ranking list too.

That’s the giant in Irithyll Dungeon.

  17. Not impressed by PvP content, but hey that huge friggin thing that was in the pre-release trailer is back. I forgot about it, what was that? (0:14) Is that another giant in a similar setting to Irithyll Dungeon or the same?

I do think I spotted a new great sword at (1:10) held by the Dark Wraith. Never mind, its the Storm Ruler.
