New Dark Souls Comic Book To Release In April

Fans of Dark Souls and comics can rejoice because Dark Souls is once again getting the periodical treatment! In conjunction with the worldwide Dark Souls 3 release in April, the comic will be brought to Souls enthusiasts by Titan Comics on April 6th. George Mann of “Doctor Who: The 8th Doctor” will be at the writing helm with Alan Quah of “Godzilla: Awakening” handling the art.

Simply titled “Dark Souls”, the first (and possibly only) issue will feature 5 different covers which are as follows:

  • 2 Game Covers
  • 1 Blank Sketch Cover
  • 2 Variants from artists Joshua Cassara and Marco Turini

Mann had this to say about the new comic:

I’m ‘dead’ excited to be working on this new series (see what I did, there). Dark Souls has a rich, original universe that’s just begging to be explored in comics, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to delve in and tell some new stories within it. I’ve been a fan of the games for some time, so it’s a real thrill to be able to contribute to the mythology of the Hollows and their world.

To get a better idea of the art direction take a look at 4 of the cover variations:

Folks will remember Dark Souls 2 also featured a comic release  that was a part of several of our giveaways during pre-release hype events. There is no word yet what the story details will be or if there will be more than 1 issue but we will update as more info comes.

The brutality of Dark Souls 3 is imminent, and players are being honed in preparation. Will you be picking up a copy or 5 of the comic when it comes out on April 6th? Be sure to have your friendly local comic shop set them aside for your monthly pull list!

  1. ^Wish I had finished it lol, I will never have time like that again, darnit. Was a decent run for my first time working with comics. I look forward to seeing what they do with the new one!

  2. One of our own community members took it upon himself to colorize the comic from Dark Souls 2 and received some great recognition from the creators for his color work!

  3. Sounds really intresting and awesome. Hopefully it will be in color, unlike the previous comic. Just really dislike black&white comics.
