Morbid: The Lords of Ire Gets First Sneak Peek Trailer

The second instalment to the Morbid series, The Lords of Ire continues the dark Action-RPG now in a 3D format. The previous title explored the dark horrorpunk world of the Seven Acolytes. Full of horrific creatures and lore-expanding NPCs.

In this title, the game will expand the sanity system from the first title. Choices made will have an impact on the world around you. Sanity will also affect how enemies will react to you, based on certain perks. This creates a whole new way to experience the world of Morbid. Of course, this will introduce new bosses, formidable foes and much more guts as well as gore.

Morbid gets a 3D makeover in its sequel.

What’s New in Morbid: The Lords of Ire

New features of the sequel include further environments to explore across five different worlds with optional quests to take on. An expanded progression system consisting of skills and abilities as you level up your striver. A new and improved blessing system provides new ways to build your character just how you want to.

The previous title was done in an isometric pixel-art style, which is a stark comparison to its sequel. This time players will explore the rich land in 3D, filled with new bloody disgusting detail according to the developer Still Running.

The new expanded sanity system certainly sounds like it will put a spanner in the works, granting some interesting ways for foes to react to you. Just exactly what these different reactions will be, will be fun to see. If they are suddenly enraged it could cause a more challenging fight, maybe a sort of affix of sorts.

Morbid: The Lords of Ire will be coming to PC via Steam in 2023.
